Topic: Rory Gallagher - Kickback City
Here's an interesting release on 28 October. Kickback City box set. A compilation of Rory's "crime songs" and a novella by Scottish author (Rebus books) Ian Rankin. This is a must buy IMO :

It is official Jane. I believe Rory's family sought out Ian Rankin to come up with the format as Ian is a huge fan (and a nice bloke too).

Looks an excellent package and topical for me just now as I am just kicking off rehearsing a short set of Rory's songs. I've been listening to him a lot lately.

I just received it today!
There are three CDs. CD1 has Studio tracks and CD2 has live tracks. CD3 is the Ian Rankin short story "The Lie Factory" narrated by Aidan Quinn.
It comes with a comic-style postcard and the story itself with drawings is 37 pages long. They even have fake ads in the back like you used to see in comic books.
I haven't read it or played the CDs yet but was happy to get it.

So looking forward to this even though I have all the songs already. Been a fan since his Taste days.
