I think this STINKS!!!
The different ticket sites like stubhub and ticket liquidator act like they have tickets, but I don't think they really do since they don't have seats yet. They have their people out waiting to nab them once they go on sale. Unfortunately their minions are waiting and ready to pounce just like we are.
We are in the hands of TicketBasturd now. TicketsNow is one of their partner sites. Stub Hub is independent but that doesn't stop them from being in on the scams. The best way to stop it is not pay scalpers prices. They get stuck with them enough then they will stay out of the market.
Oklahoma City Show has tickets on StubHub They are listing them by section and row. That should be impossible. The tickets have not been released. If they know at this time what is being released then it is an inside deal with TicketBasturd.
Thanks Jim, When I have sold tickets on stubhub I was told you have too have tickets in hand to sell. Could this be season ticket holders that stubhub has in there pockets.Problem is you always will have fans buying from scalpers if they get the best seats.

I have an inquiry in. That is my one gripe about the venue Joe is playing this time in is that it is a Ticketbasturd venue. The venue the last two times is a Tickets.com venue and they work to defeat scalpers in the venue box office. I expressed this concern when the show was being planned since the other venue was unavailable. I have done a lot of research on how the scam works. How tickets get siphoned off to resellers. It is kind of like investigating the Fed Reserve you know something isn't right but nobody will admit it.
One of my growing laundry list of things I'm really fed up with. This is right at the top of my list.

Thanks Joe. we all wish you could control this too.
Although ticket sales of any kind is "good" for your management bottom line.
I was wondering how Taskmaster's web site could have sold 1/3 of the seats in Toronto in like 5min and Ticket Master telling me that the show wasn't on sale yet.
and the seating map was strange too.. why would someone buy at the middle-back of the theatre when you could get row 10?
I think Ticket-Master blocks off seats for its affiliates
When I finally did in; I was able to get some good seats stage right...
See you on May 24..

Not sure what you mean by that DougH but if you are referring to artists that scalp their own tickets Joe isn't one of them. All his seats are released to the public. TicketBasturd may not. Like I have said before there is an unholy alliance between TicketBasturd and Ticketsnow and other re-sellers but Joe doesn't have the clout a Springsteen or Aerosmith to demand a piece of it. I have my theories and there are articles that have been written about what actually happens but still there is nothing done about it.
The show in my area went onsale today and there were seats available in the first 5 rows that never happens at the venue he is playing for other acts so I think individual markets have built in mechanisms for siphoning off tickets apparently our market doesn't. Some promoters and artists have it set up to release limited numbers of good seats to the public on the initial sale. Joe doesn't they release all but PBS holds and guest list or artist holds. I know this to be true.
I just looked Stub Hub for OKC. There are tickets listed in sections that were not released because he is playing the arena cut in half. Scalpers will try anything. How can you sell something you don't have?
Yes Jim I am referring to Ticketbastard
They say tickets on sale at 10am but it looks like lots of seats are already reserved in a lot of venues.
That can only come from the Ticket website.
edited my post above to clarify

eBay has a ton of listings for the 2014 tour schedule already from the scalpers. I like your advice Jim, don't buy tickets from them. It does seem that some of the forum members did get good seats which is great to hear.

Glad to hear. There are several artists that use paperless tickets which are not transferable. U2 does a great job in jousting the scalpers.
What would stop JB;s management from scalping tickets for their own good. We have seen this before in many concerts over the years. Its not an uncommon practice to scalp your own tickets for good and bad reason's , just think of the money the management could make for JB and drive up tickets prices and advertising.
Conspiracy at it's best LOL

Nothing but their own integrity.
Nutz.. I've been lucky enough to meet Joe.
He's this friendly shy guitar collector nerd; that just happens to play some pretty mean guitar too.
or
He's a really mean guitar player that is a guitar collector nerd.
either way.. don't think he's like that.
Since J&R is a pretty small outfit compared to others in the Bizz.. Highly doubt that.
Why would he play over 200 shows a year otherwise?
I think J&R just need to buy their own concert theatre's and then sell tickets to the dates Joe is in town

I happened to have a conversation with Roy concerning something I thought a bit amiss. I was assured that integrity is paramount in their operation. I believed him then and still do. I hope this was a joke.
For what it's worth, this came today to my inbox, probably because I had made multiple purchases in the presale.
"Ticketmaster Ticket Delivery Delay
October 09, 2013
Hey live event fan,
Don't worry, your tickets are coming - whether you're printing, going mobile, getting them in the mail, or planning on in-store pickup! This temporary delivery delay just gives us time to run routine checks that ensure all fans get a fair shot at seats, like confirming every buyer is a fan and not a bot, making sure everyone sticks to the ticket limit, etc. "
Hope springs eternal,
Rick
