Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season
Went to St. Louie yesterday to see the Cards wrap up home field advantage from the Braves. National League will be well represented in the playoffs. Should be an exciting post season.

I've got a hunch the Ron Washington termination clock is ticking in Arlington. 6:57 AM PST.

the SI curse is upon us. What, no fold out included? Justin with his eyes closed looks thoroughly disgusted with the photo shoot.

Kate Upton is hot.
OK Tres, rub some dirt on it and come out swingin' tomorrow! When Kershaw pitches you pretty much have to concede that one to LA, but he isn't pitching in every game. Atlanta better get busy or the Dawgs gonna be out $5 and a cocktail!!!

Celebrate Good Times, Come On! Oh I am sooooooooo liking it, what a great season this has been for the Oakland A's. To wrap the division up in front of the home crowd was right where it should be.
The crowd just loves this team. And former RiverCat's Manager Bob Melvin leading the way for the A's just like he did with the RiverCat's^-^. These guys just fit so well together. Love their brand of baseball, a combo of pitching, hitting and fielding. With some Pie thrown in for good measure.
Just a fun team and looking forward to some great baseball.

I'll jump in and root for the West Coast team. Anyone but the fargen doyers!

rule #1, never wager on the Braves in postseason. Kershaw was just impossible to hit, gotta hand it to him. You are correct though, we are only down one but it makes the next game a must win. Otherwise we go back to LA and have to face him again in game 4, if there is a game 4.

not the same Cardinals today, Cole gives up only 4 hits. Go Pirates!

Cat, did you do some kind of dance for the win tonight, brought to us by 2 Sacramento call ups and what a debut for Gray, the only Gray in the bay area skies on a day of one of the best October days weather ever? Could...it...be?
yay A's

Coming up on a unique double-header. Playoff baseball followed by very late night football. Go A's and Go Chargers.

Lol, how did you know Rocket? If you felt the Earth shake, that was me
If Game 1 wasn't enough of a pitching duel, here comes Game 2 to take up a notch. The pitching has just been outstanding on both sides. I can't say enough about Sonny Gray and his pitching debut. Detroit is so tough, that game saved the A's. Eight innings of Shut-out baseball and it was still a 0-0 game going into the ninth. I can't tell you how happy I was for the A's and Mr. Gray when Vogt drove in the run in the ninth to win it. And like you said Rocket, 2 Sacramento call-ups. So it is very special to this RiverCat^-^ .
Ha ha I wasn't sure if they were going to give Vogt the pie treatment on National TV, but they did. Good Job!
Now off to Detroit on Monday, the heat is on.
Very nice to hear you had beautiful blue skies for the bluegrass festival Rocket. thanks for posting up the link.
The A's can use as much support as they can get, thanks Rick. Hope the Raiders can make the football game worth you staying up until 11:30. Tell your Chargers not to trip on the pitching mound
the youngun Wacha has a no hitter for the Cards thru 6. last chance hotel for the Bravos tonight, need all you left coasters to pull for us. Doyers will pitch Nolasco, we have hit him well in the past.
Don Mattingly gambled with Kershaw on three days rest and it paid off. The Braves made a valiant comeback late, but the Dodgers prevailed. I hope my Cards can win tomorrow to continue the dream.
Kershaw had the Braves in his hip pocket. Pulling for your guys Curby. I hate to see those big $$$ teams get paid off.
Rick
Nice going Cardinals! That is some clutch pitching.
Rick
Wacha is clutch! Originally from St. Louis so rooting for my cardinals!

Cardinals' payroll is half that of the Dodgers. The series is far from over (I remember last year against the Giants), but we've already beaten the team I thought would win it all this year in Pittsburgh.
