Topic: Calling all Lurkers!

I checked in on a Saturday, and see there are (2) registered users online, and a total of (22) people online. This means that there are probably (20) or so folks that are looking, but don't become involved as a user to post on topics listed, or make a topic up that is important to you.
At the Joe show last night in Grants Pass, I spoke with about (6) people that had been to the site, but never registered to participate in the forum. I promptly told them to just jump on to the forum, and have some fun.

Re: Calling all Lurkers!

Ron,

I used to think there was something wrong because there are nearly 2000 registered users and only maybe 20 regular posters. I recalled a conversation with a radio DJ that said their research determined that only 2% of there listeners called in to request or speak with the on air DJ.

It seems that the forum is a spectator sport. It is up to those that feel comfortable participating to keep it interesting for others. My closest friend checks in regularly but has posted maybe twice. He keeps up with what's going on and we talk about it at times. It just isn't his nature to get on here and contribute. Doesn't mean he is any less a fan.

I just think it is cool that people are interested in what is going on here even if it is just to lurk.

Re: Calling all Lurkers!

Posting your thoughts among complete strangers isn't everybodies cup of tea, but then again once you get past it it's not so strange or is it? This is where you dive right in Roy. This forum is honestly my first experience interacting with others online outside of personal e-mails. Granted we have a common thread being connected to Joe's music. It's been a wonderful experience so far as long as you keep in mind that everybody has their own spin on all subjects and I find that to be the most interesting facet of all things forum, be it serious or the occasional whimsy.
