Topic: Manchester. Restricted view

Great night of music last night but I was a bit peeved at paying £80 For fan presale  front row seats and finding our view blocked by the monitors on stage. We could see Joe although he spent most of time on left side. Could not see any of his acoustic playing as blocked by the piano  also I could not see Carmine Rojas or Tal  for the whole gig. I always like to see the rhythm section as much as the main man.  Anyone in block A right  side get the same problem ?  Next time I book this arena will go for block b centre

This is true of most venues. Side block seats up close suffer from obstructions and also often unbalanced sound. Joe always sets up on the left with a few excursions to center and the right.

Unfortunately there is always a compromise between getting near the front and enjoying the sound quality.
Ideally you should be level with the PA system, not always possible if it is suspended from the roof.
I have gone for a central, elevated seat for Brighton although I am some distance from the stage. Sat in a similar position last year and found the sound very good and not deafening.

Lester..

Orrr.....Sheffield City Hall. Can't see it happening though. Manchester Apollo would be far better (a bit of a tatty area but good hall and sound). big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)
