Re: My Next Concert (s)

Just an off the wall post and not really musical but thrilled to be able to see one of the Prarie Home Companion shows. I just booked to see Garrison Keillor and the live radio show here to kick off the new year. Lake Wobegon  here we come. big_smile

In Rocktober it's:

Camel - Harrogate on the 19th
Steve Hackett - Sheffield City Hall on the 30th.

Maybe it's Progtober...

JB - Tonight !!!

Re: My Next Concert (s)

Dana Fuchs - Borderline, London - 8th October. Extremely exciting stuff in my book. What an act and what a venue!

Re: My Next Concert (s)

I've been trying to win tickets to both The Eagles & John Fogerty, which are both in Dallas over the next couple of weeks. No luck so far. I could probably by the Fogerty tickets, but the  Eagles are sold out & ticket prices are way too high!!

Incredible!!!

The venue was small(about 2000 seats)and it was sold out since two month.
The sound was great and clear.
Show started about 5 minutes to early so a few haven´t got their seats...

It was the first time JB did a "regular" show in Vienna! (1st show was BCC, 2nd the acoustic show)
It started with a short acoustic set (about 20 min.) Palm Trees..., Seagull, Jelly Roll, Athens and Woke up dreaming. The versions were different to the Opera-set. Only Joe, Derek and Tal. It had more jazz-apeal...

The electric-set started with a steamy, raw version of Dust Bowl. A great (2nd) opener!
After that, Story of a Quarryman and Who´s been talking. It was the red line of the evening. he played long, loud and heavy versions.
Unexpected the next song: Freddie King´s Someday after a While. Never heared him play this song before... Great blues-tune played with a softer sound.
Dislocated Boy was played with the doubleneck - can´t wait for this on the London Dvd´s!!!
Driving towards Daylight was very epic with a decent lightshow - you can imagine the sunset...
Slow Train was very heavy - like lava.
Midnight Blues - A highlight, what a song! R.I.P Gary Moore (If you don´t have the Sunflower-Dvd check it out!)
Look over yonders Wall - annother Freddie King Cover...
There were the half of BCC on the stage and yes, there was Song of Yesterday. I hope the BCC-backcatalogue will live further in Joe´s concerts - it´s worth!
The regular set ended with Mountain Time - very moving.

Standing ovations and a (very) short break - The encores:
Nobodys sitting down and Joe talking ´bout the next song.
It´s 4000th time he play´s this song and he´s tired of playing it, but everyone yells for it and so here came Sloe Gin.:):):)
I know so many versions of this song, but to hear it first time live (and electric) was something special!
The final fight was Joe Henry in a killer-version and after 140 minutes it had to have an end...unfortunately...

I think he enjoyed it too - nearly two and a half hour...
