Topic: Forum Talk on Spring 2014 schedule -title changed to reflect topic now

We all know Joe's schedule from now till Christmas

Just wondering when the Spring 2014 schedule is going to be released.

When I first opened this topic the 2014 Spring Schedule was unknown.
then finally after a long wait, On Oct 7 they released the 2014 shows and codes.

Now this subject really is just talk about the upcoming 2014 spring shows more than what are the code lists.

so enjoy and add to it where you see fit.

Another month to wait? Blah.

Re: Forum Talk on Spring 2014 schedule -title changed to reflect topic now

I was watching Royal Albert Hall on Connecticut Public TV and they were announcing a Hartford show in May.
Was wondering if this was allowed. Any moderator have the answer to that? Just didn't seem right that they could give tickets with a pledge to a tour Joe hasn't announced yet.

Yes it is allowed in fact we have a forum tour schedule for posting known upcoming dates that may not yet be in the official tour schedule. We like to cite good sources. That would be a good source. Patty received info on a date in Iowa because she works at the venue. I know of the date and venue in my market but I am keeping mum till the official announcement.

They tend to want to officially release the dates when they have all the tour routed and can announce the pre sale and on sale dates. There are other reasons that dates and venues may be withheld from publication but we here pride ourselves in being the first to know things or at least give forum visitors the heads up whenever possible.

Ugh, I'm so bummed! He's coming to my area in November for two nights and, lucky me, I'm out of town both nights. Apparently my wife and my parents were all looking into tickets as a birthday present (November birthday, to boot) and realized it as they were looking at his schedule. Guess I'm out of luck this year!

I feel bad that I mentioned the Des Moines show sad   (the other two Iowa shows plus the Des Moines show were announced last week on IPTV, as I had not a clue on them)  I didn't know the rule of thumb and/or proper etiquette on this, but now I do.       Sorry Joe & Co.   My excitement tends to get the best of me.

No harm no foul Patty. I am keeping mum on the date here for other reasons building some suspense for the announcement. I have been teasing the Facebook friends and fans about the breaking news. Like I say this is the place to hear the news first on most things.

There are instances when dates can't be announced because of contractual agreements to not publicize till after certain dates play. If markets overlap in a region then it can affect ticket sales that is usually when a promoter is involved other than J&R which hasn't been the case for awhile. For instance say there was a Tulsa play this fall and an Oklahoma City scheduled show in the Spring. The Tulsa promoter would not want the OKC show announced until after the Tulsa show played so it wouldn't affect ticket sales in OKC. Some people may choose to wait and attend the OKC show so the Tulsa show suffers. Now as a fan that would want the option to wait but didn't know they had one might get miffed however the promoter might have a lot of money on the line and needs that sale to cover the cost of show doesn't care it isn't his problem. Now the OKC promoter hopes he gets that person that drove to Tulsa's sale too but he is the one that booked close to a show that already played in a Market that needs both towns to succeed.

J&R booked three shows in the same state for the Spring they wouldn't do it if each couldn't stand on their own. Again I wouldn't worry about it I brought you up in the conversation to show that you had a reliable source. Not to chastise you for telling a secret. wink

No problem Jim, I didn't think you were.  I am just glad to know and the explanation.

Now that would be an intimate venue to see Joe, i've stood on the stage during a tour and the seating is very close!

That's what I was wondering...

Alexis had what ever method of emailing the codes to people and she missed people in their own region and sent codes to locations that weren't even close so you missed out on your own home town where you could do the best street team.

Andy made it all public free for all, here, face book, etc.

Wonder what's up Eric D's sleeve?

Re: Forum Talk on Spring 2014 schedule -title changed to reflect topic now

If the pattern holds true with public on sale being next Friday for some markets the pre sale would probably be Tuesday. Notification could be either this Friday with the usual email blasts or this coming Monday.
