Re: Edinburgh - The Playhouse
My first Joe gig . He was astounding (as was his band). I have most of his studio albums on vinyl now, but was still surprised by the range of styles he covered. In this type of genre, I am more of a straight blues fan, but I was at the same time impressed by the more classic rock and prog items as well . It's not often you go to a gig to hear strains of Jeff Healey one minute, and then something reminiscent of Marrilion( Misplaced childhood era) the next! But , it's all good!
Due to childcare issues, I only arrived at the end of Joe's acoustic set - which was a shame 
Joe, and the bands playing became consistently more amazing as the night progressed. I never tired of hearing him solo, as he kept exploring new territory - it was always as interesting as it was breathtaking.
I was sitting in the rear balcony( no restricted leg room apparently LOL ) but still had a great view. The sound was excellent.The playhouse is one of my favourite gig venues because of this.
Joe didn't say much, but when he did - he was really funny 
I like his Glasgow punter and Sloe Gin anecdotes . he was almost as funny as the audience member who was so pissed , that he couldn't remember what isle he was in , and when he did - preceded to fall down the stairs
I definatley want to go to another JB gig . Outstanding !
