Topic: BIC Bournemouth

Thanks again Joe for a wonderful night in Bournemouth (or Malibu by the sea)as you called it.This was my son and my third time seeing you and you never disappoint. I hope you will return again to Bournemouth these days we cant all afford to travel to see you as much as we would love too. Many thanks to the band who might get overlooked at times all great musicians in there own right. To all Bonamassa fans who will be seeing you soon on this tour ENJOY and I know you will.Untill the next time Joe.

Re: BIC Bournemouth

Awesome night.  Exquisite playing by Joe, just exquisite.  Probably the best Joe show I've seen and that's saying summat.  We had great seats in row D and when the five blokes in front of us decided to up and leave half way through the view was even better.  Was the bar a better prospect?  Who knows ... Bernie Marsden guested on a funked up version of Look over Yonder's wall but the real highlight was BOJH which finished the show.

Set list:

Acoustic -
Palm Trees Gasoline and Helicopters
Seagull
Jelly Roll
Athens to Athens
Woke up Dreaming

electric -
Dust Bowl
Story of a Quarry man
Who's been talking
Someday after a while
Dislocated Boy
Driving Towards the Daylight
Slow Train
Midnight Blues
Look over yonder's wall
Song of Yesterday
Django
Mountain Time

encore-
Slow Gin for the 2,576th time
Ballad of John Henry

Fab night spent in the great company of Maggie and Trisha.  Come back next year Joe!

Re: BIC Bournemouth

who played keyboards and other assorted instruments on the acoustic set?

Derek Sherinian on keyboards, Tal Bergman on bongos. Well, that was at Cardiff anyway!

Re: BIC Bournemouth

Lyn, Maggie and Trisha, looks like you all got quite the show! Joe must have been playing like mad because his suit is just drenched in that John Henry video smile Can't believe that people would get up and leave halfway through, but it certainly worked out well for you guys.

Re: BIC Bournemouth

Joe tweeted a photo taken from the stage right at the end.  See if you can spot yourself!!

Hi Lyn,

I can just make out my ugly mug in the picture. The wife and I had fantastic seats, five rows back, dead centre of the stage.

In fact I had such a good seat I am now the proud owner of the bottleneck slide that Joe used on John Henry. He took it off his finger and gently threw it off the stage, it rolled past the first four rows and stopped right next to my seat.

Once again another fantastic show by Joe and the band. I think he enjoys playing the BIC, so lets hope he returns soon.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

I would say the Bournemouth show slightly edged Cardiff, slightly longer set with Yonders Wall replacing Spanish Boots. I was thinking after the show that the last time I'd seen Bernie was when Joe was 6!!!!! Headlining at Castle Donnington with Mr Coverdale
