Topic: Joe signing instruments ( neck or body)

Has anyone had any dealing's with Joe in reards to signing a guitar body or neck when he is able to like at the smaller venues if he talking to the fans or doing a signing? I see when he is here in Portland he is going to be at one of the record shops during the day of the concert and I'm building this strat and have a HUGE maple warmoth fatback neck I would like to try and get him to sign but I don't want to bother him with it if he doesn't do that type of thing. Anyway if anyone has any input I would appreciate it and better yet if Joe reads this I'm on my knees begging ya. Thanks and hope everyone in Funky PO can make the show.
Best Regards to All,

Re: Joe signing instruments ( neck or body)

Hi stratdaddy,

At the start of August i went to see Joe at Tavistock and Poole. With me on this trip i brought  the scratch plate from my epiphone Les Paul. At around 2 O'Clock just after lunchtime at the Tavistock gig i saw the tour bus sitting outside the venue so i went over and the door was open and i asked if Joe could sign the scratch plate of my Les Paul. Joe very kindly did so and it was obvious aswell that Joe took a bit more time and care over the signature as it was for part of my guitar and if Joe reads this I just want to say thank you very very much again, its now back on my guitar and looking fantastic.

So in short I don't think you should have a problem getting part of your guitar signed. I hope this helps.

P.S I would have liked to have gotten my gibson SG signed as it is my main axe but unfortunately there isn't really a part of it i could take seperately to get signe di would have had to have brought the whole guitar. But i think if i ever buy a gibson Les Paul i should b eable to transfer the scratch plate.

I"m pretty sure he'll sign most anything.

Joe comes out after virtually every concert to meet the fans and sign stuff.  I've had something signed at every Bonamassa show I have been to (including a Les Paul pick guard).

Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Gibson LP Standard Faded CSB, Gibson Gary Moore LP Standard, Epi Joe Bonamassa GT LP, Epi Zakk Wylde LP, Dean Michael Schenker Flying V, Jackson Randy Rhoads V, ESP/LTD George Lynch Kamikaze, EVH Striped Series R/B/W, Fender/Squire John 5 Telecaster, Fender Joe Strummer Relic Telecaster

I posted a picture  (Harrisburg, PA) of him signing a shirt BEING WORN at the time by Cathy.  While I can't speak for him, I'd be shocked if he woudn't sign it.

Re: Joe signing instruments ( neck or body)

Hi Roy, whenever i got my scratch plate of my les paul signed, because of the palstic its made of, the pen would rub off very easily so after a couple of days of not letting it out of my sight, when i finally got home i put some clear sticky plastic over it. Its the type of plastic you could use to back books and you can only tell if you look really close.

A bit of advice though, because the material is going to be differnt form tha tof my scratch plate, jsut check on a small part of the guitar out of sight if it will work before you try it on the real signature. Nothing could be worse than trying to seal it for good then accidently rubbing it off.
