That's what I thought. But it was worth a laugh.

Are there many girls under 30 here? I only say that, because the blues in general doesn't attract that many. I'm ticking the boring box of male guitar player...but under 30.

FWIW, I just caught up with one of the newsletter links (Joe at the Acoustic Café, highly recommended if you didn't check it out, btw).
In that, Joe mentions the Chicago Theatre show from back in May (around the 20 minute mark). And that he was happily surprised to see what he mentioned as an audience that was roughly 50-50, gender-wise. Which is what it seemed like to my non-census taking eyes, as I was taking in the entire experience.
Joe said seeing that many women in attendance was "tantamount to seeing aurora borealis during the day". LOL.
I listened to that interview also! I was at the Chicago concert and did see a lot of females there!

every time I've seen Joe, there have been a lot of women in the crowd, and a lot of youngsters. There were also a few people much older than me. I've seen kids from 8 to 12 years old as well with their parents. My son is 26, he introduced me to Joe in 2008, go figure.
let's just say that Geddy Lee and Alex are about 1 year older than me, ex guitar player (arthritis is a problem, my hands got stepped on a lot playing high school football). Although I do own a beautiful Tele Thinline reissue and a Line 6 Spider Valve 212.
