Topic: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Tal posted this link on his Facebook page a few days back. Rock Candy Funk Party will be on Front and Center. If I have overlooked this being mentioned here previously sorry for the duplication. I want to be sure those not on Facebook are aware.

Front and Center previously known as Front Row Center are hour long live performances from Lincoln Center and the Iridium. I've searched PBS site and it must be too early to show there although it does say they begin airing in September. The series itself has a website link in this press release however the page says coming soon. As with all PBS shows check your local listings and if you don't see it locally contact the affiliate directly and request them. You will also see that Buddy Guy, The Rides (the new KSW & Stephen Still collaboration) and JJ Grey and Mofro will air.

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Thanks for the heads up Lizzee. When we were at the Iridium, the club said they would be airing it in October, but who knows maybe it will be sooner. We will have to keep a look out.

Great news, thanks Lizzee!

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

I just wandered over to the Iridium while Phil was at a business meeting and there is this large 20 x 30 inch photo of Joe and Tal and the guys playing during their RCFP shows they had there this past June. It is right by the main entrance and there aren't any other photos of other bands. Thought it was so cool they were featuring Rock Candy! Would be so awesome to have a copy of that huge photo smile

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Because of the fact we spent a good bit of time there in June, Phil made friends with a guy who knows the owner of The Iridium. The owner came over to where we were sitting tonight and introduced himself to Phil and they exchanged business cards and emails. So Phil might ask him about the photo. We also discussed Rock Candy and Joe with the people we were hanging out with tonight in the line and at the tables. Always have to bring up Joe with whoever we meet wink

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Owner emailed Phil back and said they would be selling photos soon and would email us with the info. Here is a picture of it, not that great of a shot because it's behind glass and there was quite a reflection on it. It's the top one on the left. It would be a cool thing to get signed by everyone if it does work out. We can see the backs of our heads in it too smile

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

J&R should get it and either keep it as is or print Rock Candy Funk Party on it in some cool font and then sell it as a poster by itself or in a collection when the DVD comes out. Kind of like what they are doing with the London shows since that also has a poster.

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

I'm surprised nobody posted it yet, but a few days ago, Tal posted 2 small teases from the recorded show!!

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Thanks for posting that. Looks like they'll be airing it on Front and Center at the beginning of November

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

Right around my birthday, which is a state secret.  wink

I'll start looking at PBS listings, around then.  Thanks for the front and center update.  A most appropriate source, given all the vids you've shot that way (or close enough).

Thanks, N.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: RCFP On the PBS Series Front and Center

They have some really nice photos of the band on that site. One of them being the one that I keep going on about (that you're probably sick of hearing about) and an excellent one of Joe

Just scroll down to Rock Candy and you'll see them
