Topic: Le Tour '13

I know there are a few of us that like bicycle racing in spite of the scandals. Le Tour has been a dandy this year with some very surprising days. Today Chris Froome layed down a licking on the competition in an unbelievable performance on the feared and legendary climb up hors category Mt. Ventoux. A breakaway ride for the ages which put him in control of the race. One wonders if this climb was chemically assisted since it seemed superhuman but you have to know they're riding under a microscope.

edit: A quick cruise of the cycling blogs shows most believe his performance was enhanced by something new that is undetectable. Still, it was nice to see Contadoper crushed. Young Quintana looked like a future star.

I'm generally ambivalent when it comes to 'le tour' - but my interest rises a couple of notches when i see another Brit is in good place - and could possibly go on to win it; here's hoping!

Doping .... yeah, we all know it's rife  - Here, only yesterday one American, and one Jamacian track athletes were found positive for banned drug use, so whats new ?? Two got caught, how many escaped this time round and got through the screening ???
It all comes out in the wash eventually .... in time!  hey ho !!

Ok, it's the Vuelta not the Tour. What an incredible finish to todays stage. Tony Martin went on a solo break and it looked like he might just hang on to win but was finally caught about 20 metres from the finish line sad Really exciting stuff!

Sorry, after the last few years I'm sickened by cycling. It really comes down to who has the best pharmacist and I can't bear to watch it anymore.
