I'm not sure that I could travel for that long!!

Re: Family visits all 50 states

How cool is that! Some of my fondest memories are taking off with mom, dad and sis for a month in the summer, camping and traveling the West in a '53 Ford wagon with a rooftop tent  and a pull out galley on the tailgate my dad made. We had a war surplus inflatable life raft that we would row and fish from.

Re: Family visits all 50 states

I love this idea! Seeing all 50 states is on my bucket list. I want the sticker map too, so I can fill all the states in. My husband is dubious. I, too, have fond summer memories of my parents renting an RV and barreling down I-5 or 101 heading to Disneyland, staying in interesting places.

Re: Family visits all 50 states

After my recent trip to Montana I have 32 states visited...of course that was over a very long period of time. I'm missing a few out west and a bunch on the east coast. No plans to "fill in the blanks". I honestly don't care enough to make it a goal.

Sure wish I had your dad. The first time my dad took me fishing I was 30 years old.

Re: Family visits all 50 states

We bought a camper about 7 years ago and took the kids on a three week trip out to Utah and Wyoming and avoided major highways as much as possible. We saw incredible National Parks, vast fields of corn and grain, and big beautiful mountains. An experience we will all never forget. Phil and I also traveled quite a bit following the Grateful Dead and the kids have been with us up and down the east coast, so I think I've been in about 42 states and the kids about 36. Get to add Louisiana to the list in November when we see Joe in New Orleans smile
