Topic: July 16th show in KC MO

Hi all!

New to the forum. I just picked up the ne CD, cannot stop listening to it!

Is anyone here planning to go to the show at City Market in Kansas City, MO on July 16th? Or has anyone attended a concert there? I have never been there before. What time do you need to get there to be up front by the stage? Do they let you take photos?

If anyone is interested in getting a group together at the concert that would be great!

Hi Gal,

I lived in KCMO for 6.5 years, but never saw any concerts there.  Joe lets cameras in, so as long as the City Market people don't mind, should be NO problem.  As far as how early, I've been to probably 15 of Joe's shows, and never a problem.  You normally can stand right next to the stage, especially if your taking photos.  If this is your first live Joe show, be prepared, he's gonna blow you away, he's fantastic on CD, but the real Joe comes out live, you'll see, and I am looking forward to hearing from you after the show also.  I'll be going to the Dallas show on July 20th, Fort Worth, the 23rd and Ardmore, OK, the 27th.  Just got back from seeing him in Maryland also.  I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed.

I did see Joe live last fall when he opened for the BBK show with Kenny Wayne Shepherd at a sculpture park in St. Louis. It was through that show and the KWS message boards that I found Joes music along with a few other artists.

I would attend more shows this summer if they were closer. I teach and am off for the summer! (But looking for a different job).

I will be seeing KWS also at the riverfront in St. Louis Aug. 5th as well.

Joe's music is awesome and I am hoping to also get him to sign his CD for me. I will post photos. I have an  Canon  EOS 20D camera system and should be able to get great photos as long as the crowd cooperates.

Where are the best places to stay (the closest) to the City Market?

wow the city market is just north of downtown right on the river,very easy to get to from any of the major hiways,I-70 or I-35 its right there and easy to navigate....

anyone who needs assistance feel free to mail me and i will do what i can to assist..

the city market well, i grew up in kc downtown in the 60s,its a very famous place from the old days of the italian immigrants and such, of course i am biased i love downtown kansas city..

a lot of folks associate kansas city with the "boring-cookie cutter malls everywhere" overland park-olathe area on the kansas side,but downtown is making a huge resurgence and the shows at city market are a part of it ..
