Hi Tahoeimriders,
I am not coming, but how sweet an offer.
I didn't know they were having an Iron Man competition. Is this a one time event or is it an annual event? And what does it consist of?
Loving the Lake, so beautiful
Keep Tahoe Blue!!!

I am not sure if it is this one time, I guess if they like the venue, they will return. It would be good for our local businesses. A lot of people in our town are still trying to recover as the '08 economic crunch was ushered in by a dry winter and bad skiing .
When I checked the web site it looks like they have competitions all over , then championships. Swim, bike and run I believe.
The "GG" the Street Teaming Chincoteague Pony and I will be making good use of the crowds, to spread the "Power Of Joe".
I count my Blessings everyday to have lived here the past 35 years.

Hay Dawg, We are trying to Keep Tahoe Blue for sure! Come see for yourself! Finally got the 4-H horses to the Lake 3rd week in July. Late late start to the season, but it's not how you start but how you finish that counts!
How's things in your neck of the woods?

Really itchin' to get up to North Shore, haven't been since last Oct. for mostly a work trip on one of my oldest friends families place on the Truckee River @ Bridge 8 outside of Squaw Valley. I upgraded my truck to one that can make the climb now. My favorite time of year up there is just after Labor Day, after the turistas clear out.

Love Tahoe and environs. My mom, sister and b.i.l. went on a month and a half motorhome excursion in June/July and went by there and up into Canada, then looped to the coast and down. It rained and blew the whole time, every single day! The day they were at Tahoe, they'd scheduled a tour boat ride and it was so rough my sister passed since she gets seasick. Talk about the vacation from hell!

Word.
And yet Mother Nature( sometimes said as a cuss word) up here in the High Country can deal a bad hand. July wedding snowed out is not as uncommon as you would think.
The last 2 days with some rain helped to get a handle on the fire by the American River that has given us some smokey days.
One man's blessing can be another man's disappointment.
The worst is when the roads close for snow with the tourists trapped in the basin. You have never seen a grocery store look like it has been stripped by locusts in a few hours when that happens!
All in all, I have loved every day of the 35 years I have lived here.
Blues like no other if you are in a boat off the West Shore. Deep, rich blues that defy description!
I hope your family gives us another try Rick!
