Topic: Chantel McGregor/Mostly Autumn Tour

Chantel McGregor will be out on the road with Mostly Autumn later this year. Chantel is to be "Very Special Guest" at six of the shows. Not sure whether there are any more to be announced, but these are the six dates.

24 August - King Georges Hall, Blackburn

4 October - Picturedrome, Holmfirth

5 October - 02 Academy, Islington

4 December - The Stables, Milton Keynes

5 December - The Waterfront, Norwich

7 December - Grand Opera House, York (christmas show)

On a personal level, I'm quite excited by this, Chantel and Mostly Autumn are the two bands who I've seen more than any other. I do know that a lot of the Mostly Autumn fans have also  become Chantel fans over the last three years. Probably as a result of both bands playing the Cambridge Rock Festival in recent years. They've also played a couple of other festivals.  So this should work really well for both bands. I do hope that future collaborations may be possible.

With Chantel continuing to blaze a trail up and down the UK, a night of live music doesn't get much better than this,

Mostly Autumn are probably a band that are not a familiar name to many of forum readers. They're a seven piece band from York on their own label and have been touring and making albums since 1998. They have a big, multi-layered sound and would probably be best described as a classic rock/prog band. Female vocals (Olivia Sparnenn) and lots of guitar solos. They're a great live band and their back catalogue is as good as it gets.

Here's a couple of Mostly Autumn songs as an introduction.

Re: Chantel McGregor/Mostly Autumn Tour

I've seen MA many times and also Heather Findlay since she went solo.

They are a very talented outfit with multi-instrumentalists and Bryan Josh shows his obvious Blackmore influences.

Definitely a 'Go and See' band if they are in your area

Re: Chantel McGregor/Mostly Autumn Tour

Congratulations Chantel. Your wish to be the first female guitarist of the year on the Brittisch Blues awards becomes true.
Enjoy.
