Topic: Crossroads

So I happened to come across the show "Crossroads" a few times, where they pair up two musical artists from two different genres. Sorta interesting, and it got me to wondering...who would you like to see Joe paired with, if he were to be on the show? There seem to be a lot of country artists. I think this show may be on CMT, which would explain that.
I was envisioning someone more on the jazz side. Maybe Al DiMeola?

Re: Crossroads

I'd like to see Joe paired up with someone country (there are some kickin' artists out there right now), someone in rock (maybe even an expanded version of the VH1/Ted jam), and then a jazz pairing. Why not go for a trifecta?

You know who would also be interesting for the jazz pairing? Stanley Jordan.

Vince Gill

Re: Crossroads

I agree with Don:  Vince Gill. Hell of a guitar player.

Re: Crossroads

Until I watched Crossroads, I only thought of Vince Gill as country and never paid too much attention to him.

Re: Crossroads

YES! YES! YES! Absolutely, that would give everyone something to talk about.  One of my rock n' roll fantasies is to see the two of them trading bada$$ guitar licks. Joe, don't think for one minute Bonnie won't give you a run for your money, you may think she's quieted down a  bit.. LOL  I got friendly with a guy guarding the back stage door at her concert last December who hand delivered Blues Deluxe and HTCT signed by Joe courtesy of Jim Moody.  I included SILT and ANDY.  I need to get a copy of "You and Me" to Bonnie. I think their paths will cross one day being that they are both involved with the Blues Foundation. What great exposure it would be and she is really big on bringing other artists along for the ride.

And since we are in fantasy mode here, like I said before:

B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Joe Bonamassa- Riding With The King II or Crossroads

Bonnie could easily be added to the mix, Joe's the only one she hasn't played with.

I'm not a big Country music fan but I do like Vince Gill.  I liked Pure Prairie League too and later found out he was a member before his solo country career.

CJ, thanks for the history lesson. I never knew that Vince was part of Pure Prairie League.
How about Charlie Daniels and Joe? (is Charlie still around?)

Re: Crossroads

Brad Paisley. He is one of the finest guitar players I have ever heard.

He has already done a crossroads with John Mayer however.

It was quite a good show, both are excellent players.

Vince Gill would be another fine choice.
