Thanks Sally.

I actually didn't time the video... it just all kinda fell into place by the grace of god. smile  Especially the end.

Re: My new D-18

I have to say.....that was way more interesting and entertaining than the title of the post would lead you to believe! Congrats! She's a beaut!
I propose and submit that everyone does something similar each time they receive a new (or new to them) guitar or toy. For instance, I know everyone would be thrilled to see me getting a new fly rod and reel! Seriously, I do think it would be cool.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: My new D-18

Well shoot.  Great guitar.  I was all set to get the GPCPA1 when I played the D-18.  The sound from the D-18 was acoustically fuller....I was torn.  I ended up with th electric acoustic only because I had waited so long to get it.  But after playing the D-18, it did put doubt in the decision.  You're going to love it, I'm sure.  Oh...and I don't know how you were so patient in getting it open....great job on the video...clever.

Re: My new D-18

A new acoustic has been on my list...congrats and Happy NGD!

Re: My new D-18

Watched your vid last night.  Enjoyed watching you unwrap that beauty.  I can't play a guitar to save my life, but I have friends who would have geeked out just as much, over it.

Thanks for sharing.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: My new D-18

a Martin Dreadnought is one of my dream guitars...either a D18 or D28...I want to get a nice Strat first and then a Martin.

Earlier today, I have named her "Hope".

Re: My new D-18

I have over 800 views!  Sweet!

Re: My new D-18

"Hope"  Fabulous name for a great guitar.

Your treat is still to come because she won't open up for a little while yet and when she does it'll make you giggle.  It took my 28 about two years.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Re: My new D-18

...i liked the bits where it said on the box 'this way up' and you opened it upside down and it said 'fragile' and you through it across the room! ...your my man! ...never conform!!!!! lol wink

That was really really cool Robert!  cool  I loved watching that.

Having just got myself a new Taylor acoustic this week (https://forum.jbonamassa.com/viewtopic.php?id=24917), I can appreciate the feelings that go with opening up the case for the first time...  Congratulations!
