when it rains it pours huh Dawg, sorry to hear of all the injuries. Dodgers and Nats have had similar problems earlier in the year, maybe the Pads to a certain extent as well. knock on veneered particleboard, we are fairly healthy right now.

Apparently ATL's bats are anemic, but when Buster comes home he loves to entertain his family & friends.

I've been out west for 35 years, but still the YANKEES for me.  I agree a win is a win and even though we are know for the late season push back, I would like to see a little early cushion.

Still, every thing can change in a "NY Minute" or a "Split Second" which ever is fastest.

These guys just may be doing something. Don't look back JDawg... They have clawed the way out of the cellar and may be setting the sights higher now. Seven game streak is fun.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

fun game for the Braves last night, starting nearly 4 hours late due to rain and ending around 2AM in Atlanta. They had to get it in because we have a doubleheader today to make up a game. never doubt Freddie Freeman in a clutch situation. sorry Alan, Gee was good for 8 1/3 but the walkoff sent everybody home.

Yep they finally beat a line up that featured 3 regular starters after the entire team hit the runway @ 3:30 AM yesterday morning. The good news for us Giants fans is Pagan & The Panda may be back in the line up any day now. Scutaro's pinky is still a twisted mess. Zito was money like always @ home and the bullpen gave it away. That catch by Venable was incredible, if he didn't get to that ball it was game over. Good luck tonight.

Yeah, Padres are playing two men short too. Black is mulling over what to do since the minor pool is pretty much used up and there are a couple of players injured that have him in a bind. Good luck tonight. Nobody is running away with it in the NLW.

Congrats to Rick on the Pads achieving .500. cool

My decades of following West Ham are standing me in good stead watching the Nats this year. Some would be tearing their hair out (yes, if they had any) in frustration by now, but not me, no sir, cool as a cucumber....I'm waiting for an awesome run come Aug/Sept, on the assumption that we won't be miles behind by then......Hammers are eternal, idiotic optimists, even though we know what to expect.....[/rant]

As discussed early in the season, it ain't time to panic.....just yet. if the trade deadline comes and goes and your team needs help then crap or get off the pot as they say. If your team doesn't make a move or worse, trades a quality player, then they're throwin' in the towel. The deadline is always an anxious moment in the season!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

this is hilarious in case you missed it. I swear it looks just like the old MLB-2K8 video game if you forgot to push the "call off" button. BJ took the worst of it, everyone including the fans had a good laugh. We did not get a laugh out of losing a doubleheader to the Mets.

Funny! That must smart getting beat up by the Friars, then losing the d/h to the Mets. Lots of season left.

Harvey and Wheeler were fairly impressive for the Mets.

well, Nats moved to within 5 games last night, ATL has totally sucked on the road. Close eyes, click heels together and repeat "there's no place like home".

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

the Braves retired Chipper Jones's number this past Friday and inducted him into the Brave's team HOF. It's just the same old blah, blah, blah thank you speech except that he also thanks people on the Dbacks, starting around the 3:50 mark. I didn't see it coming and I don't think they did either. Very classy move on Chip's part, especially thanking Don Baylor.

Nothing less than one would expect. A first ballot HOF guy if there ever was one. He never gave less than all he could.
