Re: Carre, Amsterdam June 29/30, 2013
Let's just say that Beth will sing 2 of Joe's "solo" songs. What would you want them to be?
I'll go for If Heartaches were Nickels plus Sloe Gin.

I was thinking something similar, not that Beth would sing Joe songs, but in addition to the Don't Explain/Seesaw material they would do some stuff from Joe as well as some stuff from Beth.
18 days and counting...............
Joe says he's off to rehearse 20 songs for the shows

Kenny, I wonder what Michael, oooops, the anonymouse Carre mouse would think of a little re-arranging of "Colour And Shape," tell me that doesn't bend your minds a little bit (but not likely)! ...and I'll mention again, a duet (I decided!) on "Asking Around For You"-perfect 2nd show finale closer! Sure would fit the Love Amsterdam has (since early on) continually bestowed upon both of them!!! Another gut-wrenching double miss for moi!
But, there's no need to fear, many friends will be hear...ing, I mean there, many friends will be there! The shared excitement and enjoyment works for me,...a dozen years now.
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
The sentimental stuff is okay, but I'd love to see them do something raunchy like "Whole Lotta Love". Obviously not a Joe song, but Beth has done it quite a few times herself, and to see her belting out those Plant oohs and aahs while Joe is going off on that guitar, now that would be killer!

I am proposing a group meal at an excellent but out of the way family Indonesian restaurant that I've been going to for over 20 years. So, I'd like to start a head count. Please list yourselves if you are interested in joining in on the Friday evening.
We can also arrange pre-show meetups close to the venue for the two show days. Sign up if interested.
Meal on Friday evening

Geoff + 2That's 11 so far, add your names if interested so that I can reserve in good time.
Anyone else interested in a wonderful Indonesian meal on the Friday at around 19:30 please adds your names asap.
For those of you not coming to the meal on Friday, we can all meet up pre-show at Cafe De Magere Brug, which is located on the same side of the Amstel as the Carre, about 200-300 meters towards town - in other words, between the Carre and the Amsterdam Hermitage. Hopefully, it'll be good weather (ha) and we can all hang outside rather than have to cram inside.
Anyone who might want, but doesn't have my phone number, please PM.
We'll be there on the Saturday. Think I have been there before.

I've never met any of you Scots lads (and lasses,) so please make yourselves known. I'll be wearing a Bonawho button, in case you haven't ever noticed my pics with Dana Fuchs in her topic.
How cool, the Café Magere Brug looks like it is on the same block as the apartment we are going to be staying in, very convenient ! Only 9 more days!!
