Topic: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

The "Unstoppable" Joe Bonamassa is on the cover and the magazine includes a "Free Bonamassa Compiled CD". It looks like the article will discuss "The Black Country Split", "The 500 Quid Ticket" and "The Confessions of a Blues Antichrist"

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Thanks for the heads up. The friendly guy in periodicals at our Barnes & Noble told me 4-6 weeks after they hit the stands in the UK. When Joe was on Guitarist Magazine in 2011 I had gone in a few times looking for it and when I asked he took my number and called me when it came in. I gave him a postcard with the free download when I went to pick it up. Now if he's there when I go in he'll say "I know what you're here for" and pull it for me. I have not seen him last few times I've been in, but noticed when I stopped in to get the recent Classic Rock Blues with the article on Joe, it was front & center on the shelf cool

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Really good interviews with Joe at his 4 London shows. He takes no prisoners! My claim to fame is that I had a couple of drinks with the reviewer Dave Everley before the Borderline gig and spoke to him after the Albert Hall gig. Interview was supposed to be printed in June but I guess they brought it forward.

Just arrived in the mail yesterday but haven't had time to look at it.

Hey, bump, you better get your priorities straight!    big_smile

My local Barnes & Noble told me they expect the July issue around mid-month June.

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Good to know! I can ease off stalking the lovely Lynnwood, Washington Barnes and Noble for a few days!

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

The interview with Joe is typically candid and well worth a read.  He mentions an incident when playing at Mr Kyps (Poole, UK) back in 2007 when the power went off during the middle of So Many Roads.  Turned out Kyp (yes, he does exist) was using the tumble driers at the same time as they were on stage!  We thought we'd end up with an acoustic set but happily power was soon restored.

Well worth the cover price as well is the excellent CD which comes with it.  With the exception of Beth Hart and Rock Candy thing I've never heard anything by any of the other artists and have to say I'm really enjoying it.  At this rate I might even become a blues fan yet.

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Thanks for the heads up.

Unfortunately, I'm about a month late and I live in the US. Wasn't sure if i would be able to find a copy of this anywhere.

However, RoadcaseBoy's post inspired me to grab a copy from ebay. Will be a pleasant surprise whenever it shows up at my door.

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Mine arrived yesterday' 7 quid extremely well spent.... Great song picks by Joe

Re: Joe on the cover of the July Classic Rock magazine

Still not at Barnes & Noble, but they did have the Guitarist Greatest Blues Guitarists with small pic of Joe on cover and then a nice article on him. The full page photo of him was smartly handsome.  I especially enjoyed reading Joe's opinion on So Many Roads...my opinion, Joe's best song ever....it is epic! And Joe spoke very highly of it too.  It could very well be my most favorite Joe song recorded and LIVE........sorry for straying somewhat off topic......  Plj
