Topic: UK Dates

Hey guys, hows it goin?

I just had a wee look at the tour page there and was noticing a healthy number of dates in England during Feb. I was just wondering which dates any of you plan to be attending? I would like to get a trip over and catch 1 or more shows and it would be nice to meet some of you again smile

Or would there any venues you have been to before and could reccomend? I was at Shepherds Bush Last year and although its a great venue it does loose some of the "intimacy" of the smaller venues like Mr Kyps

Thanks,
Matt

Re: UK Dates

Hi Matt

Morecambe tickets went on sale yesterday.
400 capacity venue.

I have ordered 10 already - Wife and son (both seen Joe live last year), friend (who I introduced to Joe last year) and 6 Bonavirgins !!

I wasn't at Shepherds Bush so won't have met you.
I'm hoping to go to some other gigs as well this time.

I bought a ticket to see Walter Trout as well today for the Milton Keynes date. As it happens I'm passing it on my way home from a business meeting that day. Seemed too good to miss. The Stables Theatre in MK is superb. Looking forward to it.

Hope you get over.

Re: UK Dates

Hi Matt

We're definitely going to Frome but really can't make our minds up about Shepherds Bush.  It was a great night for sure but, as you say, a big venue like that loses some of the intimacy you get with smaller venues.  Never say never though ..... hope you can make it to Frome ... you know where we'll be smile

Re: UK Dates

Hey Matt, see if you can get over to Liverpool. Joe's playing Pacific Road in Birkenhead just across the River Mersey. You should be able to pick up a cheap flight from your neck of the woods to Liverpool and get a bus / train into Liverpool from there. Get there in the afternoon and take a ferry 'cross the Mersey and you are on the doorstep of the Pacific Road venue. Suggest you overnight in Liverpool at one of the many low priced hotels there, maybe stay for a couple of days and perhaps take in the Friday show in Crewe and the Saturday show in Manchester - like me!! he he - I'm lovin it!

Re: UK Dates

Hey, thanks for the replies, it's good to see what shows other people are thinking of going to. smile

I was thinking Frome might be a good one, I see its ona  saturday so it wouldnt conflit with school too much and it looks similar size to Mr Kyps. However, I will still have a look at the Liverpool and Morecombe shows and she what they look like.

Oh Michael, you should have an e-mail, i sent one to you so I hope i got the address right smile

More good news, both my uncle and brother would like to see a concert so they will more than likely be comming over with my dad and I.

Thanks again,
Matt

Re: UK Dates

Hi MAtt, PAcific Road is a fairly unique venue in an old tram shed, that has been upgraded to an arts centre by the local council. They have some good bands on there, I'm off to see fish later this month and Walter Trout next month. Saw Joe there last year and he was just awesome, sellout gig with about 400 people all standing. Crewe and Manchester are of course not too far away from the Wirral for me. You should be able to click on the link on Joe's website to buy tickets for Pacific Road, but be quick, it WILL sell out very quickly

Re: UK Dates

Hey guys, I've purchased 4 tickets for the Cheese and Grain show in from on the 16th so I shall be attending that one.

I was thiking however, of also going over again the weekend after the 16th to see Crewe Manchester and Sheffield but I'm not sure if i'd be able too as I'd be more than likely heading over on my own as my dad uncle and brother would be satisfied with just seeing the one concert in Frome.

Geoff, I had a look at the paciffic road venue and it does look like a nice place indeed but unfortunately the show is on a wednesday so it would be better for me to stick to weekend shows to keep school happy.
