Jon,

I know Crosby Loggins is opening for Joe in St. Louis and several other dates this fall.

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

We got to see them twice, here in ATL opening for Joe, then a week later in Athens opening for Joe.

Great band. Their music sounds considerably different live. Much more rocking.

I was going to include them in that thread about bands with violin players. But I wouldn't really call them a blues band. Their violin player is pretty incredible!!

Just helping to spread the word about going to see GOOD bands and GOOD live music as often as possible!!!

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

Crosby was added to the bill and opened Joe's show at the MN Zoo tonight (Sept. 6). He played solo. He was followed by Monte Montgomery, then Joe. Crosby made the announcement that he had signed with Joe's label and his soon to be released CD was available at the show, but the official release is later this month. He's very good and sounds a lot like the old man.

If it's so...Congratulations Crosby! Let me know if you see any Kenny sightings (other than by you Crosby) please! So, Crosby has both solo and band gigs?

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

Crosby's pretty good.  He was a bit mellower and not quite the shred fest we got from Joe and Monte, but I look forward to hearing more from him.   The last 3 songs he played I liked quite a lot.  And I'm glad to hear about Joe's label expanding to other artists.  Who better to take care of other artists who are doing it for the music than Joe and his team, having fought the battles and learned the ropes the hard way.

P. S. Monte Montgomery is great live and raised the bar for Joe.  And Joe hit it out of the park as usual.

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

That is good news that Crosby has signed with J&R.  He is a heck of a nice guy and very serious about his music.  Look forward to seeing him again in October.

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

Joe pulled some strings to get Crosby to open the show for Friday's Greater Ozarks Blues Festival in Springfield, MO. I got some photos of Crosby that I will post this evening and also of the other acts along with Joe. I will also post a review.

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

After seeing Crosby open for Joe again tonight (yesterday) at the Surf, I have to say that he's not just pretty good, he's fantastic.  He can play the guitar and man can he sing.  I picked up his cd that is coming out on Sept. 25th and what I've heard so far is really good stuff.  Check him out, he's not blues, but he's good.

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

Just thought I'd say that I've listened to Crosby's new disc We All Go Home several times over the last few days and it's really good.  All I have to say is Joe has a great eye for talent, because Crosby has it.  I'll be shocked if he doesn't break through to mainstream success.  Definitely out of the singer/songwriter mode.  He reminds me of a cross stylistically between his dad and James Taylor.  And he apparently writes his own songs.  Fantastic lyrics.  The dude has a real gift.

I figure since he's on the J&R roster it'll be okay to post the link to Amazon where they are taking pre-orders for his new cd.

I'd love to see a rocking version of Danger Zone...i know I can't be the only one.  Maybe, Footloose also?

Re: Crosby Loggins joining the J&R Roster

Crosby did put on a solid show in Springfield and told me he is opening for Joe(solo and with band) on a good portion of the fall tour. As David A said, he is a hell of a nice guy, the new cd is very good. Looking forward to hearing him at some of the northeast shows.  Larry G
