Really early to start this thread but... I drove by Valley View and there to my glad eyes was emblazoned Joe Bonamassa in rotation on the big electric signboard out front. I'm praying the crew can sort the echos and other acoustic nightmares there.

With the most generous and magnanimous donation by Denbon, I located four fervent but needy fans who would not have been able to attend due to mishaps in regular employment and they will be attending, much to their joy!!! smile

What part of town is that in?  I was in San Diego last month, just wondering if it was near any of the places I was at.  Loved the parts I visited.

It is in the Midway District. Sports Arena Drive across the street from the big strip mall with Home Depot et al. Floor level is already sold out and half the first level of loge. Joe is setting up in one end with a third of the seats. Cap of the whole thing is around 18,000 if I recall correctly so I'd say he's shooting for 5K plus.

Hope that number works out for Joe.

Closest I got to the Midway district was the airport.  Gas Lamp District and surrounding areas was my main area of loitering.

Problems?  Most recently Ive been there for Roger Waters and the Who and the sound was great....at least up front. Dont sweat it unless they have problems with how they close things off.

Good/reasonably priced sushi down the street, easily walkable....Tsuruya.

It is our late fall break from cold weather...lol

Hi All!  I just talked to Rick and are looking to do a pre-show gathering for the 14th show.  I was thinking of making reservations at Chili's as it is a stones throw to the venue.  If you are interested please e-mail at paul.dussault@cox.net prior to 7 December and I will take care of the rest.  I'm thinking 5:30 is a good time.  I look forward to meeting more Bonabuds and hope to repeat the experience we had in Vegas back in April.

Chili's does not take reservations on Saturday nights period let alone one with an event at the sports arena.  Reservations anywhere in the area are quite improbable, honestly. 

And the big electric sign is down, under construction, so no marquee for this one! sad

Well, lets all just go to Chili's and hang out then. Or, we could try for that BBQ joint up the street but that is usually megapacked too. We're not rolling in to San Diego until Friday night from this road trip so will be there for any arrangement. A tailgater in the parking Lot????
