Anyone who can go see them. Billy can PLAY! We know them and have seen them locally a bunch of times. Ask them to do All Along The Watchtower and tell them Alan from Sea Bright says hi!

Beaverwood for me tomorrow, the second time I've seen them there this year! Hope Billy does that Rock n Roll cities thing again.

Re: Billy Walton Band...May Tour...England

EXCELLENT LIVE BAND, SEEN THEM A FEW TIMES, BUT UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO LOGISITCS I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING ON THIS TOUR, PERHAPS IF OVER IN MAINLAND Europe I MIGHT GET LUCKY AND CRANK IT UP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Billy Walton Band...May Tour...England

Caught the guys on Friday night, and it was like one of those cosmic alignments; Friday Night, Newcastle Cluny & Billy Walton Band. Is there a better way to kick-off the week-end?

Openers Planet Graffiti got things going with a solid, rocking set that got the Cluny rolling in a good mood, but, BWB came on, and to paraphrase Roger62, Cranked it up. Got the impression Ritchie had just made it over to the "Geordie shores", so after a couple of bouncin' numbers, Billy was itching to get jammin' with his sparring partner, so most of the set list sort of went out the window, but damn! it was a great mix of hot blues and cool soul that made 100 minutes fly by.

Crank It Up was the back-bone of material, but as I say, the guys were up for a party and even though it wasn't a full Cluny, it was a noisy one; the atmosphere was charged. Bump827, I took your advice and asked William if there was any chance of Watchtower, but if the band was having any more fun, they'd have to pay us. They did final encore with Little Wing however, and that was worth the price of entry alone.

Don't get the impression though, that this was just a Friday night thing, I've seen these guys several times now, and they ARE Friday night. If you don't feel it, you must be sleeping with the fishes.

Not certain about this tour, but next time round I think there's an excursion to mainland Europe... badda boom, badda bing.

Great to hear. They were our "local bar" band until they first of all got more of a following and we lost the bar to Hurricane Sandy. The Mad Hatter will return as soon as they raise the foundation and rebuild. Greetings across the pond from Sea Bright NJ!

Re: Billy Walton Band...May Tour...England

Greetings right back at ya! BWB are certainly making the right noise for us here in N.East England, glad to have them over playing here and good to see them gathering a fan-base. Love to see them play more, but as William was saying when chatting with him, most of the Blues Clubs here only run Fridays or Saturdays, and then maybe only monthly, but thank God for places like The Cluny.

Don't know if its just me, but Billy Walton reminds me in a lot of ways of Alan Nimmo: now that would be a good night, BWB & King King - anybody want to make it happen?

Re: Billy Walton Band...May Tour...England

Works for me. G.E. Smith along with the keyboard player for Southside Johnny had played a gig at The Stone Pony (fairly well known club in Asbury Park) and G. E. called Billy (who's band had opened)  out to play Whipping Post with them. He's subbed for Southside after Bobby Bandiera left (for Bon Jovi, no comment about that hair band) on guitar as well. The "kid" has chops - we've watched him progress over ten years or so.
