Pete you're a star ... though I don't have the time watching it right now ...

Re: RYAN MCGARVEY!!!

Aah - Thanks Eva, glad you had a great time over here. Hartlepool certainly witnessed something special with Ryan; last thing Tommy said to me as I was leaving was “same time next week!?!”. Tell Ryan & the band they’d never go hungry in this part of the world, we’d have them back anytime. I’ll bet my buddy will be bending some ears at Sedgefield R’n'B club and I dare say we’ll make sure you’re looked after too, next time you come over.

Ryan’s next visit can’t come soon enough!!! (I know when, but I’m not stealing Linda V’s thunder; especially when she’s done such an outstanding 1st tour.)

Had a great time and much fun in England.
Would have loved to stay a few more days.
I met so many nice people and enthusiastic club owners and can't believe that I'm already back home.

It was great meeting Bonabuddies at every concert: Ian & Max at the Flowerpot, Tripsy at Keighley, Michael & Jully and Geoff & Sue at The True Blues Club and Mike at Hartlepool. By the way Mike, I had a special beer with me all the way from Germany and after the storm of the merch in Hartlepool I forgot to give it to you. Thomas from the venue was also gone when I stumbled about the beer in my bag and so I gave it to a guy sitting in front of some beers who obviously loved beer! Cheers!

Audiences ranging from 30-40 and 90-150 .
All 4 gigs were phantastic with varied set lists.
Every gig was good and had something special. Maybe the most amazing gigs for me were in Hartlepool and Newton-le-Willows.

I absolutely loved the crowd in Hartlepool. They were nicely warmed up from the band Federal Charms and got into the music at the second song "All the little Things". After that it was a grand slam home run for the band. I can't add that much to Mikes review. All I can add is a setlist from the Hartlepool gig:

Blues knocking at my door
All the little things
Downright insane
Never seem to learn
Crying over you
Texas Special
Sunshine of your love (with special guest Andrew Pipe who did great)
------------
Joyride
My sweet angel
So close to heaven
Better watch yourself
Starry night
Right in all the wrong ways (lap steel guitar)
Jam in open G (lap steel guitar)

The band left the stage and the crowd was on their feet in one second and stomped and screamed and shouted for more (absolutely love such a crowd) and of course the band came out for an encore.

Mystic dreams

Again: Applause, applause, applause

The other outstanding gig for me was the one at the True Blues Club in Newton-le-Willows not far from Liverpool.
Maybe about 40 people and they were totally different from the crowd the days before. They were absolutely quiet and clapped their hands politely. Sound was good, band was good, audience held off emotions.
When the band ended the show with 2 phantastic songs on lap steel, the crowd clapped hands politely and I wondered whether the band would come out for an encore. The band came out again and played Mystic dreams. And where the crowds before gave standing ovations it was only a low-key applause. Before the band left stage Ryan said: If you want us once more you have to show it ... and that helped. Now the audience went on their feet and clapped and cheered .... Yes ...
The second encore started with a drum solo from Logan Miles Nix. Then Ryan and Justin McLauchlin went on stage and they played an absolute outstanding "While my guitar gently weeps". Awesome.
Also loved the time after the show at the True Blues Club. Had some fun and found out that I like beer shooters!!!

On Wednesday 15 May from 7-9 pm Ryan McGarvey will be featured on True Blues Show @ www.wa12radio.co.uk

Thanks for the very nice review Blues Sissi. See you on the Highlands festival

Wish I could have got to the Beaverwood last night. If Pete Feenstra is at the Billy Walton show tomorrow, I'll be in his ear asking him to book Ryan again so I don't miss it next time around.

Re: RYAN MCGARVEY!!!

Excellent gig review of the May 14th show at The Beaverwood Club courtesy of Pete Feenstra can be found here :

http://getreadytorock.me.uk/blog/2013/0 … -may-2013/

"His impressive musical armoury draws you into his music. One moment the crowd fell silent in rapt attention and the next they were cheering his guitar breaks as bit by bit the evening came together like pieces in a jigsaw...You suspect there’s much more to come from Ryan McGarvey a guitar star in the making"

Re: RYAN MCGARVEY!!!

Ryan McGarvey & Band rocked their socks off in Schöppingen lol
They were in brilliant form and were one of the highlights of the festival.
The new album "Redefined" was one of the most played music on Monday -  the day after their performance at the camping site.

Today a very intimate gig at the Topos in Leverkusen.
Not sure whether I'll make it to the Highlands Festival in Amersfoort next Saturday - but I'll be in Eibergen next Sunday.

Re: RYAN MCGARVEY!!!

It's been announced that Ryan will be playing the Carlisle Blues Festival in early November. Hopfully not his only stop on a return trip to the UK.
