Sheesh the Friars are bad! This is going to be a looooong season. We're talking a 120 losses rate here.
Rick

To add insult to injury the Giants are comin' to town Rick. You know what that means, a home series on the road for the Champs. Waitin' to see if the SF fans actually outnumber SD fans this year.

Rick, it's April. Yes, a sweep, but my point was proven, massive presence of SF fans @ Petco. Don't forget who's wearin' the rings....for the second time in 3 years. Good luck!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I know the Friars are going nowhere. We take what is on the day's plate and when it comes to the G's and spanking them with a gift of a  through the legs walkoff winner in the 12th it is all very good. smile I couldn't tell the colors being sported by the fans in the stands, the radio wasn't too clear with the visuals. hmm
It looks kinda like Dish Network is the winner here in the who's got the games on race for my buck.
Your guys look good for the long haul J Dawg.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Detroit is a very good ball club, way heads above Atlanta. We were annihilated at their place this weekend. So much for fast starts, ATL is 12-1 and then goes on a 3-9 losing run over the next 12. WSH in Atlanta tonight, I believe it's SS pitching for the Nats.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

There is definitely something wrong with Strasburg, control was way off last night if you saw any of it. Curt Schilling did a short analysis of his motion to the plate and release, not good. He's falling off the mound towards first base putting a huge amount of torque on the right shoulder. He will never get through the entire season if he continues pitching like that. That's 8 straight wins vs the Nats going back to last year. GO BRAVOS!

ESPN is repoting that it was arm tightness, but medical exam says no injury:  http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/92277 … ok-gm-says

As for my Royals...Lord, I know I asked if we could maybe hold on to first place until May 1, but a 14-10 April and a half game behind the Tigers is good enough! Now, about May, Lord...   wink

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

congrats to Tim Hudson, he got his 200th career win last night. Oh but what a way to do it. After just missing an HR early on and settling for a double, he came back and got the homer later in the game. A nice tidy 3 hitter with 2 hits of his own. Tim has hit very well this year, trying to figure out if the Braves could put him in centerfield lol , instead of BJ Upton who is sucking at the plate. A great night was had by all, 9 straight vs the Nats and we go for 10 tonight.

Already saw it prior to the first pitch, tossed out by Lars Ulrich, he looked just like the Dad & son in the VW commercial, but he got it right across the plate! BTW, Giants win on a Buster Posey walk off homer! Beat LA!!! Those fargin Doyers!!!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

After the dustup a few weeks ago with the Dodgers, which put their starting pitcher on the D.L. and led to the subsequent sweep of the Dodgers, then the Giants and a winning record since, my Friars have hired a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master as a team consultant. Manager Bud Black thought there might be something to be gained in team aggression.  The master went over the tape of the brawl and immediately identified 4 tactics  Carlos Quentin could have used to further damage opponents. He got a suspension so why not add a few more to the DL for the money.  Toss a brushback at our guys now and it may lead to more than a dirty look again. Look out folks, there soon may be MMA action between the baselines putting more stars out of action. Bench clearing brawls might lead to serious mayhem. Your players may be better at baseball but our goons are tougher.  lol

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

yeah he is sensational, but what else have they got? Come on down to hot 'Lanta, I'll check the schedule and find out when we meet.
Atlanta took the Reds 7-2 in a day game, taking the series 2-1. It would have been a sweep if not for the total meltdown by Craig Kimbrel last night. It made me very ill, I won't rehash it but that was his 2nd blown save this year.
On a positive note, Dan Uggla hit 2 dingers today. I know he's looking forward to the visit in SF to see the relatives and friends. Friday night is the matchup, Timmy Hudson vs Matt Cain.
