Re: The NFL - National Football League

So far our Boltz have done good IMO. The big 'Bama OT was a badly needed gap filler to protect River's blindside and he could be a future all pro. Now getting Manti Te'o could add a team sparker and game changer to the D and sits well with the large Samoan contingent in SD. I'm happy. big_smile

Poor Tyler Wilson went to the Raiders, where good football players go to die.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

My Jets seemed to have filled some holes in an effort towards rebuilding after gutting the team in the off season. We'll see if Geno Smith is the real deal. He can't be worse than Sanchez.

You got a very skilled WR in Keenan Allen, he could be another DeSean Jackson. Roll On You Bears!!!

Smith's redeeming quality is he didn't come out of USC, a hotbed for overrated QB's.

Absolutely. I saw another QB on the board from USC and cringed.  The worst of it with Sanchez is all he can say is be works hard.

Then again as a life long season ticket attending Jet fan I'm aware Joe Willie sold our soul to the devil for that SB win.

I will agree with you for last year and a few more years.  I won't agree with you, before the previous year.

Nice to know we might as well have tried to make the damn playoffs last year if we were gonna drop to No#12 in the draft from the #3 pick.  If we had #3 you wouldn't have to worry about poor Tyler Wilson.

McKenzie likes to clean house except his brother.  So he can clean out the stands too until he puts a winning football team on the field.  How did changing that #1 power-blocking scheme to a zone-blocking scheme work out for you McKenzie?  Oh it didn't work, so you had to fire your retread Offensive Coordinator after one year because your idea sucked.

They brought you in McKenzie.  Your exact words were,  you would "bring us a championship".
So bring it since you had the ego to say it.  You were not good as a Raider, lets see you bring it as a GM.  Luckily we still have Darren Mcfadden as of now.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Tyler Wilson will be a tough competitor regardless. Given time, I think he will be a heck of a quarterback if given the right situation. The way the handled the crap hand he was dealt last year proves he's a winner. I hope Oakland can give him the tools necessary to grow into a starting quarterback.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I'll give the Bears new GM the benefit of the doubt. He drafted an offensive tackle at #20....that was projected as a mid 2nd rounder by everyone else. Maybe he knows something nobody else does.

This was the year of the lineman and D-back.

I guess he went with the pedigree...the Bears #1 is Howie Long's son.

If he's anything like his big brother Chris it ain't a bad pick. I hope their little bro' Howie Jr. ends up with the Raiders!!!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Mike Golic's kid who graduated Notre Dame got a contract (not drafted) with I think the Eagles

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Well Honey Badger got drafted, but AZ isn't guaranteeing any money in the contract they offered him and his agent. If he can pass possibly weekly drug tests he'll see a paycheck. Can't say that I blame them for their approach.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Nice to see a couple NFL owners taking the high road concerning players in trouble with the law. The Pat's & Browns both released players facing serious charges, Aaron Hernandez on a murder charge and Ausar Walcott for attempted murder. Even though Hernandez was a Pro Bowler and valuable piece of the Pats offense the Pats didn't want the distractions and parted ways 90 min. after his arrest. Walcott wasn't drafted and faced a huge task in making the team in Cleveland, but not now after being arrested for beating a guy almost to death at a nightclub in New Jersey. More teams should take this stance to possibly make the guys think twice before they act out. Both these guys face trials and may or may not get off, but I doubt either will walk.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

another guy charged today in the Hernandez murder fiasco, and there will probably be still another one charged. the question is, who will roll over on whom? maybe all 3 should get life and be done with it, but who pulled the trigger? I doubt that it was Aaron, will be interesting how it unfolds.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

he may not play a lot because of size and speed, but is already giving back to his team, and an Alabama player at that. He didn't have to do that, especially with a monster of Fluker's proportions. I never once made fun of Manti during last seasons media blitz, always thought it was a prank and that he was gullible. It makes for a funny pool visual though, him trying to hold DJ level.

Manti is turning heads in rookie camp and will probably be a tremendous addition to the Charger's roster.
