Topic: 77 Les Paul Artisan - can Joe sign it?

I have a beautiful 3pu LP Artisan Gibson built the same year Joe was - 1977 on the 235th day so its not exactly on his birthday. Its been my favorite guitar bought new at Ring Music in Toronto and this baby has seen some road - mostly bars and shitty little venues and its always been the prettiest gal in the room.  No, this is not for sale and I won't entertain any offers but I'd like to bring it to Rama May 6 when my wife and I and a couple of friends go to see Joe's concert. Is there any way that Joe might sign the buckle rash area on the back for me? He can rent it for the night too if he wants to play it - he'll find my rates quite competitive. (yeah like that's going to happen)

Buy a lithograph either from the site or if someone will sell you one with the meet and greet. And I kind of doubt he needs to rent your guitar.

To add to what others have said...

Joe is pretty open about signing most guitars but he is very adamant about not adding his signature to an instrument that is considered "vintage" as that would lower its value. If you do get to see him, he will be honest with you about whether or not it would be a good idea. You could always have the case (or something else) signed though. smile

Hope that helps,
Jim
