Has the world gone mad?
thoughts with those caught up in this, - playing out on UK news live, - shocking scenes.
Being reported as explosions rather than bombs here, has there been conformation of anything there? Really hope it is some sort of accident and nothing sinister but does not look that way sadly.
They say they thinks homemade bombs but remnants to be examined. One set off 20 seconds after first to injure first responders. Right at finish of Boston Marathon with many people and police lining the street
I know area well, I worked in Boston in 1999 and walked Boyleston many times.
Bomb found at Atlantic Seafood - I've eaten there multiple times
Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. Very sad day.
My mind just cannot grasp this - and I lived through 9/11

Definitely bombs, several unexploded ones found, quite possible they had not gone off because the cellular network was so flooded with calls that detonator calls couldn't get through. There are reports of a Saudi national in custody.

I heard a report that the authorities shut down all cell activity to prevent detonations, but who can trust anything you hear through the media anymore? Sounds more like a "homegrown" wack job to me. If it was Al Qaeda the damage would have been way more extreme. Shades of the Atlanta Olympics bombing.

For some reason it's. very personal
What a terrible way to return to the US. As we boarded our connecting flight in Newark, this was flashed on the tv screens in the seatbacks. The world has gone mad.

That's fairly scary. Was the flight delayed?
Welcome back

Thankfully no.
Very Stupid...the cowards will get caught eventually......prayers go out to the familys......be aware of your surroundings

We can never relax
I'm stuck home (my car is in the shop) and it was all that was on yesterday. It's a sad world when we have to remain vigilant in everything we do.
sorry to read that you are having a tough time of this Alan, - can't offer any comfort but I do know what it is like to have your home town blown up and innocent people killed. Also know what it is like growing up having your bags searched every time you go somewhere just because of a small minority of idiots.
- just unbelievable that people going about a marathon run or watching an event could get caught up in this, - and to read of an 8 year old killed in this way is just such a waste.
Thanks and I don't know why I'm taking this so hard being a NY born and bred and having lived through 9/11. I worked in midtown but had to sleep in my office as I couldn't get home (Staten Island at that time).
But Boston having worked there in 1999 and walked those streets every day somehow is more personal. And the TV coverage is incessant. I've at least found music to soothe today
