Topic: Beware of spurious e-mail from "PayPal"
I've today received an e-mail purportedly from PayPal. On closer inspection the sender is "accounts@PayPaI.co.uk", note the capital I instead of an l and the embedded link is to a non-PayPal website. Be warned - you can't be too careful.
I have sent the following to PayPal and await their response. I've added an extra colon in the URLs to prevent the Forum BBCode producing a link and anyone accidently clicking on it.
"I have received an e-mail as follows:
"Your credit card information has been changed.
On April 08 , 2013, your credit card has been removed from your PayPal account.
You are receiving this email notification because this email address is listed as the administrative contact email for your PayPal account. If you belive this is an error, click the link below, log in to your PayPal account and follow the instructions.
https:://www.paypal.com
Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you will not receive a response.
Sincerely,
PayPal

I suspect this is a spoof as hovering the mouse over the URL in the e-mail shows a link to the website http:://textop.net/change/htm. I have not clicked the link."
I've now received PayPal's standard response to send the e-mail to spoof@paypal.co.uk and delete the offending spoof e-mail. Do the same if you get one.
