haveacigar wrote:Managed to get just the one Rolling Stones Ticket for £110. Steep for standing in Hyde Park, but they were absolutely outstanding at both their 02 shows last November. Now just have to hope my mum gets a ticket on general sale tomorrow so i'm not on my lonesome. Oh well.
Just managed to get 3 more on pre-sale at this hour after giving up on trying to get more some 4 hours back! Needless to say I'm currently quite popular with my girlfriend and parents! Plus Gary Clark Jr is at least on earlier in the day, and will not doubt play as one of the Stones' guest guitarists again.
Have you seen how many tickets atre on Ebay, sorry Stubhub? 120 separate listings!! Wish the Government would outlaw this practice but it ain't gonna happen.

It's not just the government that should do something. I've now been to a couple of concerts where my bank card was the ticket, so only the person who purchased it could get the party in, which prevented tickets being scalped, though I didn't get my souvenir ticket. That said, on numerous occasions my mum books tickets for me while i'm at work, and don't have access to a computer, so that would prove problematic. Also for the last Stones concerts in November, where they sold out so fast, I wouldn't of been able to go where it not for sales through Viagogo.com, and while i payed double the price for a **## seat for the second Stones gig, I managed with great satisfaction to get a £400 ticket for £200 for the first show, which was most satisfying to know some no good scalper lost £200 on that tickets face value. So while I'm in virtual total agreement with your position regarding touts, it has been beneficial to me on 2 occasions, and once even financially.

I don't get to many shows anymore, but tonight it's the John Scofield Hollowbody Band, with Mike Stern joining John on guitar. I discovered both through their work with Miles Davis back in the '80s. John is a longtime favorite, first time seeing Mike. Bill Stewart on drums and Ben Street on bass. The intimate Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis.
I hate you Mike is one of my top ten fav guitarists, playing with John it should be a kick&ss show. I got to see Mike in Atlanta a few years back, with Dave Weckl on drums and it was tremendous. Enjoy!
