Rick, I think you forgot about Rocket with his Orange. wink  Or maybe you meant games being played today.

I was listening to sports radio this morning in the car...Temple against Indiana...tough order as well as LaSalle going against Ole Miss. One of the guys on the show this morning is predicting Creighton to upset Duke.

Big heads keep dropping. I thought Gonazaga was overrated. Getting a 1 or 2 seed seems like a curse.
Wide open for the duration so good luck Angela, I think we are the only ones left with a dog in the fight.

Yes today. The Orange look to be well placed for advancement.
Good luck Rocket. I'll check the stats for hopeful good news for all of us.

Re: 2012/13 College Basketball Season

Florida Gulf Coast is the definition of March Madness!! WOW! I really enjoyed that game.

I got so much paperwork done while zoning into many of the games this weekend, sometimes just the second half or the last 2 minutes. Some seriously exciting games!!

I was envisioning jdawg on the end of his seat with that Ohio State buzzer beater. And I have to admit, the Temple vs. Indiana game was a heartbreaker. The way the second half was going with Temple up the entire time until the near end, I thought we were going to pull off an upset of a #1 seed. Congrats to the Hoosier fans, it must have been a nerve wracking game on your end too! wink

Lastly, LaSalle...none of us went there, but we have friends who did and kids we know there now. I really enjoyed listening to the coach speak before the games started. He feels unfazed by the seed #, considers the match-up to be the bigger challenge. Wichita State is an awesome team LaSalle will be facing.

Missed it all and I guess the Aztecs came out shooting poorly again. The did better than I thought they would this year.
IU and OSU still in it? Good luck to the survivors again.

Down to 16, four of which are from the Big Ten. Amazingly 2 still left from the Pac12.

Re: 2012/13 College Basketball Season

I've caught Oregon in both their games and have been impressed.  Louisville continues to dominate  as has Ohio State.  I think my Hoosiers will bow out this week against Syracuse as there are match-up problems and the team has been sputtering against physical half-court offenses.

Can't believe Minnesota bailed on Tubby Smith today.  Stupid.

Re: 2012/13 College Basketball Season

Congrats to Rocket on Syracuse's win! I knew you had a good shot to win after I saw how close the Temple game was.

We are all laughing at my daughter's bracket, since this season she hasn't had time to watch much basketball, but is in first place in 2 of her pools! All the guys at school were teasing her that she picked Marquette and Syracuse to win and had Gonzaga being knocked out early on. wink

I don't agree with everything Jason writes, however he is on target with this piece and speaks to the core of the problem in college athletics today, not just basketball. I watched some of the footage of Rice's abuse of his players and could not believe what I was seeing, just sickening. I hope somehow it won't be just another incident swept under the rug. The NCAA governing body is definitely corrupt on so many levels, there must be change or our young people will continue to work on their "plantation" for many years to come.

too little too late by Rutgers, what an embarrassment. You have to ask the question, "What did they see in the tapes now that they could not see last year when they first viewed them". Oh yeah, nothing. The only thing that changed was the public outcry, otherwise they are telling us Rice would not have been fired, no further action was needed? Where is Latrell Sprewell when you really need him? even Lebron has tweeted that he wants a piece of Rice.

I'm not sure I agree with the plantation mention, but you're dead on about everything else.  Reminds me of the Billy G. scandal at Texas Tech last year.

That WS/L-ville game looked fixed at the end.  NCAA and CBS didn't want the Shockers in the final and I was pulling for the Cardinals.  Wasn't surprised Michigan won and they'll be tough to beat monday.  Louisville has to get their mojo back PDQ.
