Just ask me how happy I am ... it looks as if I'll finally get my dream of seeing Simon McBride on his UK tour since some of his dates coincide with the BonaFest.  Hoping to see him in Oxford on 25th March! cool

You know what Kenny ... I've seen Sandi and Joe both in concert but I've never seen Simon.  In this case I must choose Simon! wink

Re: Simon McBride on Tour

These tunes really sound wonderful.
Just checked the Eindhoven date - they start at 9:30 pm. If it were around the corner the time would be okay but with the miles I have to drive it's too late for me!

Re: Simon McBride on Tour

I will see him saturday 30 March at The Rambler Eindhoven

Re: Simon McBride on Tour

If you are wavering about going to Simon's London gig tomorrow evening (4th April) don't, just go! If you don't know Simon's music just check out any of the videos in this thread, you won't be disappointed.

Tomorrow's show is being recorded for Simon's first DVD so he's sure to be on fire. Speaking of Fire, he played that as an encore the first time I saw him and it was amazing. I'd love to see him do it again.

Tickets are still available via the link from his website but it may be too late to buy physical tickets so pay at the door.

One thing's for sure, you'll kick yourself if you miss this one. wink

Firstly I'm going, and yes Wooder's is correct you won't be disappointed, I caught him in November at the Islington Academy. Very impressive performance. Look forward to catching him tomorrow for round 2. What fantastic news to hear it is being recorded for DVD. what a year for recordings in London, Joe's London extravaganza, Joanne Shaw Taylor and now Simon McBride. I feel like I'm being spoilt!

Re: Simon McBride on Tour

From Simon's newsletter of 6th March:

"LONDON FILMING

A couple of video guys are coming across from Belfast to film at the London show on April 4. Not just the show, but some stuff with fans before and after the show, and they will be travelling back to Belfast with the band, so it's going to be a bit of a road movie as well. If you can get to the London show, please do. It is an important event for us and I would love to see loads of people there to give it a great atmosphere. You never know, you might see yourself in the movie!

See you there,

Simon"

The online Guitar Interactive Magazine has a recent video interview with Simon in which he alos plays. You can watch it here:

Type McBride into the search box at the top of the screen and click on page 32 from the results. To go to page 34 with the videos click on the arrow in the top right corner.

Re: Simon McBride on Tour

Is that with my expert pressing of the button on your digital audio recorder, Pete? I'm looking forward to reliving Little Wing when I get home from work. wink

Another storming performance from Simon last night. I lost count of the number of people who said to me that Simon deserves to be much better known and supported than he is. He's definitely in the top 10 of blues rock guitarists today.

Looking forward to seeing some more of your videos, Pete. Can we have one of my faves, "So Much Love to Give", please?

Steve, thanks for the setlist. You must come and say hello at the next gig we're all at. It'd be good to put faces to names. You'll usually find us at the front of the queue outside and in front (left) of the stage.
