Re: New Friday video ...

What a way to kick off a Friday.  Rick's beautifull keys add so much.  This has to be the making of a new dvd.  Outstanding quality.   Thanks Joe.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: New Friday video ...

I'm on mobile internet right now so I can't watch it, but as soon as i'm at my girls place i'm ging to watch it. I feel so s*** that I couldn't go to the north sea jazz festival. I wanted to go so badly but didn't had the money for it :-(

Re: New Friday video ...

Now that's what I'm talking about!

You're heard of people getting a case of the "Heebie-Jeebies"...well this video gave me gave me a spontaneous case of the "JB-GB's"...Joe Bonamassa Goose Bumps! (Hey Jane, there's one for your Bonaglossary). Very nice. I actually prefer this audio to the CD - more edgy, and the emotion comes through stronger. Good stuff! I hope there are plans to release a DVD of Joe's performance at the NSJF!

Amen to that.  This is one song I listen to over and over.

Dr Roy ... I'm addicted to Sloe Gin, is there a cure or must I accept that I am a Bona-holic?

Re: New Friday video ...

You know its funny about Sloe Gin- the first time I listened to it (a bootleg of one of Joe's shows) my first though was eh- its alright... I just wasn't a big fan of it... then i listened to it again- liked it a little better... by the time the cd came out I loved it!  Its' probably one of my favorite songs Joe has ever done- I can't get enough of it!  Plus it doesn't hurt that the guitar solo is killer either!

Re: New Friday video ...

Joe did "Sloe Gin" in June @ Birchmere in VA.  I sat there in awe.  I fell in love with the song right then, but I had to wait until August for the album to come out.  That song is awesome, the video is awesome, Joe is awesome.  What more needs to be said?

That is raw emotion, high energy, true music, takes your breath away. What you'd give to be in that audience. Lucky people there. !!

Re: New Friday video ...

Great all time classic song already, it's the kinda of song that can give you the chicken skin!  Joe certainly knows how to make an obscure song into something magical.  Hats off to Kevin in suggesting that song to Joe.  Glad Joe changed the lyrics too, PG13 as Joe said.

Re: New Friday video ...

It's great that there are gonna be more video's from the NSJ. Me and Annelies were there (offcourse) and love to see this all again. Gonna miss the next 3 since I'm going on my roadtrip. But gonna watch them when I'm home again.
Maybe we'll be in one of those vids. Since there was a cameraman in front of us many times.
Already catch myself in another kind of love. (just 1 sec,if it even is 1 sec) wink
Enjoy these video's people. We did enjoy it when we were at this fest. And Joe and the guys played great.Fantastic show.:)

Re: New Friday video ...

Joe played Sloe Gin in Elgin, back in May. It was my first time hearing it and was one of two songs that still stick out from that show (the other was the acoustic version of High Water). There was definitely a buzz after the show and people were asking Joe what that song was. I still can't pick a favorite from the new album, but Sloe Gin (the song) is getting a LOT of play time in my house and on the road!
Thanks again for the videos Joe!

Dear LynB,

Dr. Roy at your service. First off, let me stress this point. Unlike drug addiction where the patient can break the grasp of the drug on themselves, I strongly advise that you and no one else attempts to cure Bona-holism by going cold turkey. This will only result in full body shakes, dryness of the throat and a break out of a rash that will leave you scratching in places that you normally don't scratch!

What I do recommend you and all of my other patients do that have this illness, is immerse yourself in this fabulous album by the name of "Sloe Gin". If you haven't already, order multiple copies on line at Amazon.com or run to your local music store and demand all of the copies they have in stock. Take these CDs and place one in every CD player that you own, including all of your cars. In addition, if you have an IPod or similar device download said album onto that also. On all of these devices you should find a "Repeat" key or setting. Activate this key or setting and then press the "Play" key. Finally, continue listening to this work of art called "Sloe Gin" until I tell you to stop.

By following my advice I cannot guarantee that you will be cured, however you will find relief from Bona-holism during the time that you are listening to "Sloe Gin". You could also try what I do and that is drinking alcoholic beverages until one passes out. But then, of course, you would need to deal with the throbbing headache the next morning.

If you or any other patients have any more questions, feel free to write Dr. Roy.

Very respectfully,

Dr. Roy Bluesman MD, DOTBCARC (Director Of The Bona-holism Clinic And Rehabilitation Center)

Dr Roy
Thank you so much for your advice which was wisely and thoughtfully given as always.  It has had one slight, but not unpleasant, side effect though.  I was in my local Borders on Saturday and felt a strange but compelling urging to rearrange their blues section so that Sloe Gin was right there at eye level above the headphones where you listen to CDs.....    Then I went and did it again at HMV.  Apart from that the treatment seems to be going well but the worldwide sales of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc are going mega.
Yours very sincerely smile
