If it shows before I leave it will be coming along for the ride and that too!
Around The Bend is stunningly beautiful. I forgot how much I love that song. Needs to become part of the regular set list again.
Got my blu-ray (and CD!) a couple of days ago, love it. I wasn't really sure what to expect - I deliberately avoided preview clips etc. because I wanted to be surprised. Joe did not disappoint! Kudos to him for doing something do out of his usual comfort zone, and really expanding his musicianship even further. I come from a classical background and love renaissance and folk/bluegrass music (and yes I think there's a connection there), and Joe's take on "international blues bluegrass" fits right in there! As I said in another thread, this reminded me a bit of the Goat Rodeo Sessions.
I like how he dug out some stuff from the older albums. I particularly enjoyed Athens to Athens with the interaction of all the players and the obvious energy they had going. Mu daughters got a kick out of seeing Lenny play an actual washboard! And the mood of Sloe Gin the way Joe and Arlan played it was just stunning, and Joe's musical exploration in his solo at the end... wow. Some of his best work, IMHO. I'd never seen a nyckelharpa before - awesome instrument!
Thanks to Joe and Kevin and Roy for putting this together! I enjoyed the extended behind the scenes material as well.

+1 !!!!!!!!!!!
Got mine yesterday and watched it last night. All I can say is that Joe, Kevin and Roy are brilliant. What a great DVD and the backstory! Love it. Every time I think Joe can't get any better, he shows me how wrong I am. Favorite for me was seeing Joe sing Richmond and around the bend. So happy for Joe. This one deserves many accolades
After listening to disc 2 I also want to give Richmond some much deserved love. The guitar fingering on this song makes it one of my all time favorite acoustic songs. Then Joe tops that off with beautifully emotional lyrics and voice. I asked that it be included when we first found out about the project and couldn't be more grateful it was.
Hi Joe
All I can say is you continue to elevate the bar. Joe this is simply astounding. What a colorful palate and wonderful tone. This is going to be the one to go into the stratosphere. When people think about unplugged acoustic DVD they will be saying Clapton Unplugged and Joe Bonamassa at the Vienna Opera house. Amazing Joe I am SO HAPPY for you.
You friend Ron from Pelham NH
Ron I agree. Told my husband that this one good enough for Grammy attention
Waiting ... waiting ... waiting.

Spending a Sat nite watching this concert
What a great show. The band is really tite.
Joe, you da man.
See you again next month.
I was just able to listen to the cd in the car on a long uninterrupted drive with no distractions and the volume where I desired and man, I just love this cd! Due to the quality of the recording and the car's wonderful stereo system, I felt completely enveloped by the music on the recording. Joe's voice sounds just gorgeous and all the instruments work so well on these acoustic versions of Joe's songs. Thanks for such a phenomenal recording!
