what's this? Did somebody say George is the new pope???
Having just myself retired from a moderators job that I didi for longer than I can remember understand fully about the need for a break on occasions. Welcome back George.
3 lbs of that luscious purple goodness primed and ready Hammer. We'll cruise in Sunday eve probably exhausted with reports ready of an epic marathon London week of gigging supreme. Just a quick reconnoiter for the future. I have a lovely grand daughter I've yet to lay eyes on and Berlin beckons.
Rick
I had been wondering too where you had been.Great to have you back.Seems there has been a few missing long time posters lately.

Hey you already got a MIA thread lol
Welcome back George, looking forward to reports from the Amsterdam shows! And I swear I learn something new here everyday, no grape jelly in Holland! I have to ask is it just grape, what about strawberry or apple? And can you get grape jam?
And a side note, most of you probably didn't know, JIF Peanut Butter is produced here in Lexington, Kentucky. I drive past it every day on my way to work Ironically owned since 2001 by Smuckers the grape jelly maker! The street on the corner of Winchester Road and Zesta Place! You know peanut butter & crackers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jif_(peanut_butter)
back in the 80's or early 90's I remember reading where Jif was a HOT black market item in the UK and some other Euro countries, selling for up to $20 US. Apparently that is not the case today. I won't buy anything but Jif period.
Thank you, friends.
Two of my local stores sell Skippy Super Crunch, which they actually got in at my request. It sells well, despite costing double what local peanut butter costs. I"m not going to push my luck by asking them to get another brand in too.
The Dutch are not much of a jam nation, and they don't have jelly at all. If I went into town to a fancy store, I might be able to find a grape jam, probably French, but no jelly. I tell ya, this is not the place to be jonesing for a real pb&j. On the other hand, living here has certain advantages too....

Ah, yes, but do you have Fluff? There is nothing in the world like a quadruple stuffed Fluffernutter!!! Jif? Bah! That's for choosy muthers! Skippy?! Skippy???!!! Bah! I could enjoy
Skippy best with it.......best no got there, poor Annette Funicello (sweetheart she is) has MS. Peter Pan smooth or crunchies in an industrial size is my Gobs of goober goop favoright! I am sure there is something that killed a large percentage of lab rats eons ago in there, but...
Hmmm, Holland, the jamnation damnation. How interesting. I surmise the French exceeds the price threshold, without a justifiable quality far surpassing our US of Average Grannies' goodstuff. I think the store near me carries about 40 varieties, and that is not atypical. God Bless the Americas!

George--
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this product, but it might be the answer to your prayers: http://www.americansweets.co.uk/ekmps/s … -759-p.jpg
With a name like Smucker's, it HAS to be good, eh?

Got some in the fridge Coach, it's not mine. It's not that good. But not at all bad, especially for lazy, preselected proportion people! Ok, I'll have one, too!

Annette Funicello (sweetheart she is)
Awwww, Annette Funicello...when I was growing up, she was my idol. I begged to subscribe to the Mickey Mouse Club magazine, only hoping for pictures and articles on her. I'll never forget she owned one of the first Ford Thunderbird convertibles in baby blue. Heaven.
A total shame about the MS. Haven't heard anything about how she's doing lately.

Don't ask. Let's ask George, "How you been doing, lately?"

Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to help George out with logistics. Personally, I prefer my peanut butter (or cashew butter, when I can find it) au naturel, without jelly or jam added. Jams and jellies are for English muffins, toast, and other things...

Better than Annette, anyway. Thanks for asking.
Thanks for the tip, Coach. Cathy explained what Glop is to me. However, I don't think I'd go for that even if it was available as I like to determine my own proportions of jelly to p.b. The proportion is very important, don't you know!
Peanut butter and honey! Mmmm Good! 'Bout all I ate as a kid!
Hey George, preserves are always better! Jelly is just.... well, flavored sugar.
yeah, honey is really good but you have to have mucho milk cause it gets a bit gummy unlike jelly or jam. I have to tell you what I "created" for dessert last night while watching the NCAA tournament, George is to blame for it. Not real proud of it but WTH. I found a Twinkie look alike made by Sara Lee, a very cheap imitation at best. I took two of them and put Jif crunchy with Smuckers blackberry jam on top of them, then ran it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. damn, not bad at all for makeshift dessert. and now your P,B & J comedy for the day. yep, Brian's into the martinis again.
