Topic: Page and Plant

With all the talk of both Page and Plant in recent threads, found it interesting to have just come across these two videos from 1994:

"I Can't Quit You Baby" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfcW7kib … r_embedded

Nice acoustic "Stairway to Heaven" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POAlJN37 … r_embedded

Re: Page and Plant

I wish they'd reunite. Thanks

Re: Page and Plant

We saw them 3 times in '95 and once in '98. The first one in '95 in Landover, MD was the best concert of my entire life. Such a huge Zeppelin fan and I had always thought I would never get the chance to see them live. When they burst onto that stage with "Celebration Day/Wanton Song/Bring It On Home" I thought I had died and gone to heaven! The power and force of Jimmy's playing and Plant's voice was just mind blowing!

Re: Page and Plant

Thought I'd put this up on youtube...since no one else had. Rare song they almost threw away as a b-side...yet it shows their utter genius in a dark and brooding heavy bluesy song.

Re: Page and Plant

Just the name Page and Plants conjur up thoughts of how Rock Music should sound.
They are the Lennon and McCartney of Rock and penned some of the most glorious Rock Songs ever and is still prevelent and huge even in this era of music today.

whenever their names are mentioned everyone wants to know what does it sound like and will it be as great as their 70's timeless classics.

They should do another Acoustic Unplugged show like Joe's in Vienna, if it were done well it would be so awesome

I had the privilege of being at MSG for one of the shows that became "The Song Remains the Same".  For kick **** rock and roll there has never been a better night.

Funny spelling mistake! How about WantON? As it is done on Physical Graffiti.

Battle of Nevermore - Zeppelin meets Edgar Allan Poe

I too saw them at the Cap Centre, then again in 98 in Cleveland and D.C.  In '95 they did a second nite at the Cap Centre, sadly I did not go.  Even w/ out the JPJ or Bonzo, it was a dream come true!  The reason for making the trek to Cleveland in 98 was to attend ZepFest!  And I made it to the RNR Hall of Fame to see Jimmy's exhibit....good times!  Some of you might be familiar with the Third Eye vids, which captured many of the shows from 95 and 98.

That's right. That was part of the Jap release, whilst The Window was on the b-side along with Upon A Golden Horse to the Most High single. I think the Window is far, far better than Most High...but those guys know what they're doing... wink

That was a really nice version of Tea For One. Even though it is Page's song, I love Joe's version a little bit more. The fluidity of his fingering just blows me away. I am so conflicted about him doing this in London especially if Plant ends up singing. I mean I will love to see the DVD of it, but I will be so totally bummed not to be there and see it. (Sucks to not be going, but I guess you can't do everything)

Re: Page and Plant

This may not be a popular opinion but I saw LZ in 1970 which so happened to be my first concert ever. 12 years old. I almost prefer to remember them that way. Have yet to see the reunion show DVD Maybe that would confirm or alter my opinion on that. I do have the DVD released a few years ago and it was of course a great reminder of them at not only their beginnings but their peak as well. I just wonder if it would be disappointing now to see them in their waning years. Hope to see the Heart sisters with Jason this summer. They can still pull of some serious Zep covers. Just watch the Kennedy Center honors.
