Topic: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

Starting in Auburn, Wa. June 20th, Lynyrd Skynyrd & Bad Company will be hooking up for The 40 Tour, as in 40 years. Black Stone Cherry is on the bill with them. Check their tour schedules to see if this line-up is coming to your neighborhood as all Skynyrd shows don't include this line-up. They're playin' the Bay Area June 23rd @ Shoreline Ampitheater. Paul Rodgers might just sing with Lynyrd Skynyrd as Ronnie Van Zant had hoped after all!

Re: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

This sounds great. Hope I can get the chance. Skynyrd rock anyway big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

Wow, I didn't see this.  I saw where Paul was doing a show in England.

How Cool is this?  Just like the good old days.  I always considered Bad Co. to be a band with blues-rock-country band.  They go way back with Skynyrd so this will be great to see and so glad they are together. They are good friends.

By the way, how is Gary Rossington doing?  Is he better now or still recovering?

I saw Paul Rodgers support Skynyrd in that very same venue in 1997 but he didn't join them on stage. Perhaps this time. After the show, when we called to see why our booked taxi hadn't turned up we were told that they didn't pick up at concerts!! Another 2 couples were the same so I went over to the police and asked if they would take us to the station to get our last train back to San Francisco and luckily for us they agreed smile

Re: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

I hope Mick Ralphs has been practicing lately. I saw Bad Co on Palladia at the Hard Rock in FL and he was awful. Thank God they had Howard Leese there as a 2nd guitarist.

Paul on the other hand was amazing. He's still one of THE best front men EVER. The guy still has the pipes and as not lost a thing after all these years.

Re: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

honk honk Dawg, thanks for the info. I have only seen Skynyrd once but they were incredibly good (with Billy Powell). I never got to see BC, not much of a fan then but do appreciate their music now. Is it Skynyrd in support of BC, or vice versa? Alas, they are not coming close to me, I'm not driving to Charlotte. You would think that they would play some dates in Florida?? It looks to be a great show, ya'll have fun now.

They are going to be alternative headliners (or even number each)

Re: Skynyrd/BadCo Gigs

thanks Kenny, that's an interesting concept and keeps the crowd guessing. You know we talk about people that go to see Joe and cannot seem to get into their seats on time, because he always starts right on time. For this tour, I bet they get their rear ends in their seats on time if they don't know who's coming out first.

Yeah it worked well when Bad Company and Foreigner did this in 2002 and as you say it ensured a large crowd at the start when I saw them in Boston & Maryland. Even better for Joe who was the opening act smile

Yes...on the same night that Joe is at the Albert Hall! It was a good job that I had bought my Joe tickets so long ago because I would hate to make THAT choice.
Last time PR played at Chichester I was so excited because I was on the front row!!

How Cool is that, FrontRow!!!  I so wish I would have been there with you.  I know how special that was.

I looked and that Show in March in Chichester is SOLD OUT

It's a benefit concert so that is great news.  It's with his good friend Deborah Bonham.

Happy for you that you got to see him at the Chichester last time.  Have a Wonderful time at your Joe concert smile
