It's actually their original guitarist Andy Powell who now does all the vocals. Bass player Bob Skeat has been there for about 15 years. I always have a great time seeing them. Saw the original band in 1971 and have all their albums.
To clarify Andy Powell leads the band known as 'Wisbone Ash', who are currently on tour in the USA and write and record new material.
However the band first mentioned in this thread was Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, which were formed by the original singer a few years ago. They play exclusively songs from the 1970s. They play far smaller venues, and the odd blues festival.
Don't be too disappointed that its Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash. They're a superb live band who I've seen several times. As Kenny has said, they play songs from the time that Martin Turner was in the band up until when he left in 1980 and also from the brief reunion period of the original line up in the late 1980s.
MT is flanked by two seriously good axemen, Ray Hatfield and Danny Willson. Ray has been with Martin from the start and Danny replaced their other original guitarist, Keith Buck. Both have been big Wishbone Ash fans since the 70s and know how to get the sound that MT is looking for. Danny was, would you believe, playing guitar on the road with Showaddywaddy when he joined MT's band following a recommendation from Keith Buck. Don't let that put you off though!
As Greenose has said, Martin Turner was the lead vocalist and bass player with original band. He was also the original founding member. He and Steve Upton came up to London in 1969 with their band the Empty Vessels which featured Martin's brother, Glenn, on guitar. Glenn left soon afterwards to go back to Devon and Martin and Steve began auditioning for a new guitarist. They couldn't decide between Andy Powell and Ted Turner so they took them both. A new twin guitar sound, a new start, and Martin gave them their new name "Wishbone Ash". MT was the main creative and driving force within band and was the main songwriter. He wrote most of the Argus album and many of their classic 70s songs.
Get to see them if you can, they connect with the audience and have a great time on stage. The set list often changes every gig and its normally a 2hr+ show and Martin and the guys are always around after the show to meet the fans.

Time And Space, the opening song from their 2010 live DVD. Perhaps a surprise choice to open the show as it was an outtake from the No Smoke Without Fire album.
