Topic: Jo Harman

Just wondering if there's any Jo Harman fans here, she's a young English singer who sings soul/blues.
Those of you who bought the 2nd issue of Classic Rock Blues will have probably heard her song 'Sweet Man Moses' which was nominated in this years British Blues Awards.
Jo and her band released a live album last year 'Live At Hideaway' and this year released the EP 'Worthy of Love', both well worth purchasing in my opinion. The material is all written for the first full length studio album and recording starts next week with a Spring 2013 release.

Re: Jo Harman

JO HARMAN JOINS BEPOP AGENCY

Jo Harman's stock as one of the Uk's most promising ever blues/soul/gospel inspired artists, continues to rise with the announcement that she has joined forces with the prestigious Bepop agency who will forthw
ith represent Harman's interests.

Bepop head Ed Leuinse commented 'Sometimes you see an artist and you know straight away that that person has everything needed to become huge. We had the pleasure of booking the first Joe Bonamassa tours and it was obvious there and the same applies to Jo Harman. And this thought is backed up by the overwhelming enthusiasm of audiences. Soul, gospel, rhythm & blues, singer songwriter, rockin' hard but also intimate and warm. It's all there with Jo Harman & Company. And brought with swagger, disarming charm and humour'

Harman responded 'I'm delighted to be working with such a well respected agency as Bepop, who have impressed me in the way they have taken the trouble to understand who I am both as a person and as an artist. For my part, I shall be doing all I can to repay their faith and enthusiasm in what I hope will be a long lasting and rewarding relationship'

Harman's first ever European gig has been announced to launch this new partnership when she appears, at Jazz A Toute Heure Festival, on 6th April 2013 held in St Rémy lès Chevreuse in France, with more announcements expected to follow shortly.

Re: Jo Harman

Big things starting to happen for Jo since joining Bepop agency.

Jo (with guitarist Mike Davies) will be supporting The Cranberries at the Heineken Music Hall (capacity nearly 7,000 people) in Amsterdam on Monday 5th November.

She is also supporting Don McLean at the Carre Theatre in Amsterdam and at De Oosterpoort, Groningen in November. She will be appearing solo at these gigs.

Next year in full band mode, Jo Harman and Company, will also be opening for US blues/rock legend Johnny Winter at the Paradiso in April. The band are also headlining Jazz A Tout Heure Festival at Saint Rémy lés Chevreuse, France in April.

Jo Harman and Company have also recently been announced as the Saturday night main headliner at the Hebden Blues Festival in Yorkshire (voted best blues festival 2012) on Saturday 25th May.

Jo's new single 'Worthy of Love' was released this week available on itunes.

Well Murray, I did get myself along to the Boom Boom Club in Sutton on Saturday and I'm mighty glad I did.

This young woman has such a delightful voice and is surely destined for big things. And you're right, she's surrounded herself with a bunch of classy musicians too.

Here's the emotional Sweet Man Moses:

and Jo's cover of Move Over (especially for Eldo who likes the rockin' numbers):

Had a great evening in the company of Maggie and Roger.
