What in God's name is the Funk Candy Hip-Hop dung I just heard on youtube? Has some alien being taked over Joe? I feel like crying. It was the most awful stuff I have ever heard Joe put out. I am very sad!

It's not worth crying over. Just choose something else to listen to.
Problem solved.
Exactly. Listened to it twice, didn't fall in love immediately but I'll go back and listen again. More jazzy-fusion to me than what I've heard.
Hahaha!!! Can't wait to watch this unfold!
Music!
Open your mind and expand it ...
...its a tad more intellectual its fair to say... but "most awful stuff!?" ...'The Best Ten Minutes..' does exactly what it says on the can!
you old Dawg, you know what's coming. I think Rick was quite reserved in his response, but we ain't like that down south.
Frankly Dogeater, this is a magnificent CD and one of the best of it's genre that I have heard in the last 10 years. It will be in my top ten for this year without fail. Wait til you hear his country stuff on the Tele, your ears may just fall off. Then it is to each his own, I never really embraced all of BCC and yet those recordings are loved by many here. I'd say if you just had one listen then get the CD and go at it again and see what you think.
Tres
and welcome to the site, good to have you and do enjoy the Bonacompany, a very friendly lot of folks.

It is simply Joe having fun. The others too. They are serious musicians and if it isn't your cup of tea you can't please everybody all the time. Joe while trying to please himself does make a lot of people happy apparently not you in this case. For the several hundred in attendance at the CD release party some people do embrace his forays into other genre's.
Show the man a little respect in his house please. This forum is here for honest feedback. Sometimes it is not what you say but how you say it. You think it is awful I think it is awesome. I'm not going to delete this but I would suggest you do.

It was early and I hadn't had a cuppa yet. I knew you folks could pick up the slack. Dogeater can clean his ears and listen again to some real music by real musicians having funky fun funking up the Spud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBtaq7dN_iM
Meanwhile Jim's suggestion hits the mark.

Well I loved that link Rick! It was cooler than a polar bears butt in an a$$ draggin' contest!
Is that the same vid that Dogeater is talking about?

I have no idea which was the offending piece because I have about 3 hours of videos on my channel from the two shows and others that were there have a lot too. That is a fragment at the end of Heart Beat. The band was jamming and it kind of petered out and seemed like it was over. Everyone applauded, I stopped filming, but then Joe decided he needed some more, and took off on that ripper which I managed to restart and catch. He was just going OFF!

Thought it was just me who felt that about BCC.

No, me too. I tried the first album a couple of times but just couldn't get into it.

Thank goodness we're all different. I love BCC and BCC1, but as for Rock Candy Funk Party ... even though it's our Joe playing (and sorry 'bout this Joe), it don't float my boat. I took one listen and decided I would never play that again.
(waits to be put in the stocks and pelted with rotten tomatoes :ch ).
There is no way to please everyone all the time. I am thankful that Joe plays such a wide variety of music. That way there is something for everyone. We certainly don't get that from most musicians. Keep it coming, Joe!
I have yet to find anything of Joe's that I really disliked. If that day ever comes, nobody here will ever know it...because I will suffer in silence.
Never understood people coming here and ripping Joe or his music. It's one thing to politely say its not my cup of tea (kudos LynB), but dung? Really?! Do you realize that Joe reads this stuff?
I wonder what Miss Manners would say?
