I think the new theme is dull and purposely harking back to the safe orchestrations...and such a safe artist...(50yrs?)
Not that I think the Jack White song is the best, but no idea why people gave Cornell such a hard time over his and called it forgettable. It wasn't. Some nice playing by Pete Thorn on that too.
I'm not saying this because of being here, but if the right song came along...JB would kill it! smile

Heard it this morning. Nothing special - Adele has played safe. More like the theme tune being written for her rather than for the film IMO.

I'm not one to judge so quickly .... no doubt, the song will hit the #1 spot sooner or later.
We all know the 007 theme track is a promotional tool, and should be looked upon as such.

I've never really understood the Adele hysteria. Ok so maybe 'hysteria' is not the right word, but I don't get it. Yes, she's got a good voice and all, but I have a hard time grasping the reason for her meteoric rise and buh-zillion album sales. Is there an endearing human interest story to go along with Adele's music? Was it a matter of timing, where there was a gap in the music industry that Adele uniquely filled?

Before you all light me up here, I'm not bashing her or her music. I find her stuff pleasant enough when I'm on the mood for it, but I'm just not captivated. And I love female vocalists...in fact I tend to prefer them.   

Anyone?
