Ah, the 80's. High school and college years. There was some pretty good stuff in the beginning. The Wall was '79, but felt like 80. Remember listening to "Another Brick In The Wall, We Don't Need No Education" on the bus on the way to school. What a way to start the day. And of course "The Final Cut" in '83. Hanging out with the boys in town, listening to a boom box playing AC/DC Back in Black.Then there was Rush's "Moving Pictures" with "Tom Sawyer". And then in college, in the all girls dorm when I couldn't stand hearing the other girls play Police's "Synchronicity", Phil Collins, Madonna, or Cindy Lauper one more time, I'd retreat to my room and crank Scorpions "Rock You Like A Hurricane" or "The Zoo" from their "Animal Magnetism" album, or maybe some Van Halen, Asia and of course Zeppelin. The 80's definitely bring back some fond memories.

Too busy raising babies in the '80's to pay much attention, although that was when SRV came along and I did pay attention to that.  Does Tom Chapin (very funny kid's music, yes brother to Harry) count?

Dude! Girls playing "Synchronicity?" "Every Breathe You Take", an all-time classic song on The Police's most cerebral / spiritual offering...Asia? Now there is a huge waste of time let alone talent.  "Heat Of The Moment" worst Yes imitation ever...YUP, all in my opinions!

For myself, the bands of the 80's were The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Ramones...wholesale...

Yes, including the blow up juke box and an incredible sax solo on Urgent. Also saw them do the Agent Provocateur tour at the same venue in 1985 supported by Night Ranger. The blow up made another appearance smile and an incredible concert. Foreigner were at the top of their game then.

Yeah, not only were the girls playing "Synchronicity", they wouldn't stop playing it. It was on constantly. Probably because it was one of the top popular albums at the time. And after what felt like the millionth time hearing it you just wanted a break even if it was something as superficial as Asia, who did at least have a cool picture of a water dragon on its cover wink

Yeah, the Asia covers sure sucked me in!!!

I disliked the MTV video of Every Breath You Take just because it was black and white only...
