Wonder how he got that. That's the Clapton model, right? I doubt it's the custom built one though. Doesn't matter; I can't afford it anyway. I'm sure one of the guitar collectors on here will snap it up.

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

If it is real and authentic, I can't imagine the note from Joe that says "I hope you enjoy it as much as I did" really means "good luck selling it and I hope you make some money"........

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

yes I'm with you there Phil.. he's asking a wee bit more than the actual guitar is worth..it says that it's stock..the actual value of the instrument is around $650. It'll be interesting to see if someone actually buys it for his asking price.

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

this is just like the people who get pickguards signed then put them on a crappy guitar and try to sell it for $100s in profit...

I will NEVER buy and autograph...they're personal, man....I'll never sell one either for that matter...

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

I'm tempted to buy the thing, just to get it out of circulation. I'm know Joe buys and sells guitars all the time; some are more famous than others and I would believe if it is one that comes with something written by Joe then it probably should be kept. If its just a guitar - then its just a guitar..... in my mind there is a difference.

To each his own - just because I wouldn't do it doesn't mean its wrong - it only means that I wouldn't do it.

In another attempt to hijack a thread I know one Street Team activity is mention Joe on other forums. Of course you would think music, guitar, blues, that kind of topic disussion group.

My oldest son who is more in to sports and golf than music. I had given him a copy of Y&M a couple of days ago which he loves. especially the Pink Floyd sounding song track 8. Close son but you didn't pay enough attention to my classic rock class you were attending the 18 years you lived at home. Any way he was on a golf discusion forum and somebody brings up Joe B. He said apparntly Joe has a pretty big fanbase that spends time on the links.

Sorry Mark. Didn't want to start a new topic for that. As for the guitar. Joe probably traded for something. I would of course like to get my hands on that. But it would mean more to me to actually gotten it from Joe.
The red Heritag LP from ANDY DVD would impress me more than the Clapton. Then the gold sparkle Strat.
The #1 Gigliotti would be my holy grail.

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

Gotta agree with you there Jim.  And Phil, I'd love to have that one also, and I can afford it, with a hand written note from Joe, something alot of us already have, but NOT with a guitar.  I collect music memorbilia, have a few gold records on the wall, this would be a wonderful addition, gonna have to give it some serious thought.

Love, Peace, Beatles and JOE!!

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

If I aquired a guitar from Joe in some sort of deal with him... I would have to keep it.. it would be very hard for me not to play it so I think I would.. I'm just not one of those hang the thing on the wall kind of guys, therefore I would never buy something like this for that price as an investment/show piece. Maybe I should offer the guy the actual value and see what he says.. unless it was some sort of charitable auction or something from which he aquired the guitar I'm sure he paid the actual value and is trying to make a buck.

and by the way if you want to inquire about the guitar just click the dot beside the thread starter's name and it will drop down contact options.. click email and his email address will appear..I am going to ask how he came upon it..

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

I remember when they were new, you could get them for $850.  I'm not sure how I feel about the Fender Lace Sensor pickups.    ?

considering joe played it, I would pay  perhaps $750 for it.  Any other used condition ec strat played by john doe I would say is only worth around $600....

for the money you might as well get a Gigliotti guitar custom made for you.

Re: Here's a real piece of Joe memorabilia for those who can afford it

So check this out.  I've bought several guitars from Rumbleseat music in my time.  I came across Joe's 63 Strat that he used on A new day yesterday.  If you open up the jewel case it's the pic of the strat that's underneath where the CD lays.  I traded a few vintage pieces and some cash for it.  Here's the kicker.  I sold it a few years back sad  It was a cool 63 Strat.  It just didn't play all that well.  I got a full price offer so I decided to let it go.  I do know where it is and have first right of refusal when the current owner decides to sell smile   Hindsight is always 20/20. smile  There's a few clips on my website where that guitar was used.  www.tjscarlett.com  The songs are called "Down" & "Alyssas song"

Be cool
