Topic: Favorite guitar article

Here is a good article about some of my old hometown hero's favorite guitars. All players here are from the Fox Valley (appleton/GB) Wisconsin area.

My favorite guitar?

1972 Les Paul Custom - Black

It has a really skinny neck for being a Norlin, the gold pickups are "Gibson" embossed, and the waffle-backed tuners made it one of the most unique guitars I ever played. Mine has cream plastic, and I've never seen another one identical to it.

I bought it when I was 14, and the neck was skinny enough to fret a full F chord with my tinier hands. I still have it, and it's still #1. It rarely leaves the house, because I fear someone would run off with it at a gig. I have other axes for that.

Re: Favorite guitar article

I prefer a thinner neck too, but don't mind a normal C shaped strat neck. Absolutely HATE V necks.. So your LP is the same as in picture, just with cream parts? The Black Customs always look classy.

I'd go with a Blues Jr. I love mine. I'm pairing mine with a 30 watt Budda that I just got used.

Interesting! I'd like to know how you run it, and what your settings are, as I have a Blues JR, and looking to pair it up. Is the Budda 30 a combo?
