Tres,
I only justbsaw your post. I sent an E-mail. Did you not get that one? That was on the 1st already. In the mail I thought I had explained everything that happened.
Bham-Nashville is like 190 miles. I wasn't intending to backtrack but if you have a suggestion for a meet then email me at hansamike@gmx.de. that way whenever I get online I see the message.
I've been trying to get out and actually do stuff instead of sorting out motels, credit card problems. When I wanted to go online yesterday then the hotels service was down.
Its all proving a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I won't go into details on here. I'm still in Nashville and will make the decision tomorrow morning whether to stay here and catch the Superbowl or move on somewhere else.
I have to say, now I have had a chance to look around, Nashville is an interesting town. Architecture and history of course. Did the Grand 'ol Opry tour today which was fun. Stood on the stage, on the wooden circle there. No chance to sing though. The District is full of bars and every one has a live band at some point in the afternoon and evening. I saw one combo breaking down in one joint and then moving across the road for another set somewhere else.
Foodwise it has been a disappointment so far, but there have been reasons for that I guess. Did the River Brewery this evening. Nice beer and a flame grilled Meatloaf with mash and vegetables and mushroom gravy. Nice and filling on a cold day. Snowed here this morning.
