Hey Lee, those are some awesome pictures that you took!!! The one into Joe's glasses is an amazing shot. You have a good idea and a good camera, too bad you couldn't get into Crossroads.

Thanks. The reflection in the glasses shot was totally unplanned. Because of the relative lack of light and the fact that I don't use a flash, I had to do a little touch-up work to almost all the photos and I enlarge the photo a little bit when I do that. I noticed the reflection in the glasses during that process. I actually have quite a few like that, some where you can make out both of Joe's hands on the guitar, but this particular one was the clearest after enlargement. I am going to go through some others that didn't "make the cut" and see if I can find similar shots.

Brilliant shots! I bought a Canon 400D jsut before the Holmfirth Show and optimistically tried to take some shots during "Mountain Time" whilst my girlfried continued with the video camera. I hadn't got used to the camera and was pretty upset with the results, so I found the background detail of your shots very useful. I too don't like to use flash unless I have to and I notice the high ISO at 1600 and the 1/80th of a second on F5 on most of your shots which was a revelation me. Thanks for posting

Thanks Geoff. For most stage lighting you need to set a high ISO. I wish my camera went to 3200 actually. The photos are more grainy, but I prefer that to using flash. I usually keep the shutter speed at about 1/60-1/80, which is fast enough to shoot freehand, and hope for the best. Even then most of the photos are slightly underexposed.
Being able to see the details of the photos is one of the cool things about flickr. It's been helpful to me as well.
