Re: Eric Clapton - New Album

Its interesting that he is doing this on his own label.

Another artist not happy with Warner Bros. I suppose.   Good for Eric!

I still can't get over the cover.   THey should have called it "Old Fart".   I still can hardly believe he approved that.

Re: Eric Clapton - New Album

The cover doesn't even look like Clapton to me, at all...kinda' strange, I honestly wouldn't know it was him if the name wasn't there.

He must have been going for the tropical beach bum vibe?

Yes, I never would have recognized him either - - must have had worlds better photo selections...      :fp

He played an acoustic version of Gary Moore's 'Still Got The Blues' on his last solo tour in 2011. As well as performing 'Further On Up The Road' with Joe at the RAH in 2009, but otherwise he hasn't performed any of these songs in recent years as far as I'm aware of or at any shows I've attended in the UK/

Re: Eric Clapton - New Album

agreed. Somebody here that knows WTH they're talking about is going to have to tell me it is absolutely kickass before I shell out money. The cover he looks a lot more like Kevin Nealon, poor choice of photos.

Maybe I'm the exception, but I thought that was the most incredibly dull performance I could have witnessed. Zeppelin blew the lid off coming back...
That was more like a slowly deflating balloon.
Where was the power, the groove, the danger of Cream? That was the retirement home. Be it still better than a lot of bands today.
These blues albums he keeps dropping are tiresome.
Plus that cover looks like it was done by The Onion...

I thought it was awful myself. Especially when you saw how Zeppelin did it. But back on track, I'll maybe check out a few tracks if they get uploaded to youtube but that'll be about it.

Hell, I never would have found Joe if it weren't for Eric.  That's exciting right there for me!

Eric is probably one  of the most influential blues and rock artist there ever was.

Re: Eric Clapton - New Album

This has always been a favorite when they called him God.  Didn't know George co-wrote it.
